I raid as Meta/Ruin for my guild, I am usually on CoE duty because our Boomkin never shows. I also give out the massive spell power increase for the rest of our spell casters. I don't top meterse but I'm usually in the top 10.

I've been spec'ing into Demonology even since i dinged level 10. Its my only real raiding spec, as my dual spec is used to solo old world and BC instances.
Recently, I have started to average low 4k in dps. The mages and hunters always have higher dps, but I slaughter them all in overall. Averaging 4-7th in dps, 1-3 in overall.
I've noticed that I've been doing better dps then all of the other warlocks in my guild, actually, better then any warlocks I've ran with for that matter. I've been thinking of switching my solo spec to 13/58 so i can figure out if they suck or i just kick that much ass.
On a side note, my dps improved a good bit once I customized my UI with addons and lots of macros.
Why is everyone so QQ about demo? Really.
Edited for fail spec

well, to be fair, if you beat destro locks then it's because they suck but a well played demo lock doesn't have to lag behind on the meters by much.

That what I had been thinking, I'd just hate to think that I'm the only lock in my guild that plays their toon well. So depressing -.-

I personally only went Demo for Meta, which I admit is a bit mis-informed. I had originally spec'd into Demonic Pact, but when I read that a talent that took 8 talent point could be overwritten by Totem of Wrath I dropped it like a hot potato.
I got the Destructive Reach because I out aggro the tanks without it, got the Imp healthstones because none of the warlocks in my guild that are already pointed into do their jobs, and I just threw the last 2 points into aftermath because the totem that provides 144 Spell Power would overwrite the 2/5 Demonic Pact.
More recently, our ele sham left the guild, and the t9 is pushing me towards grapping Demonic Pact since it can replace Imp Demonic Tactics. Once I get a few pieces of t9 I'll be respec'ing. But up until recently, due to guild/raid makeup, Demonic Pact was a waste.
I'm not a complete noob... I think >_>''
P.S. My bad for not seeing your response in the previous thread.

thing is that it's so ridiculously easy for DP to surpass ToW these days. a few heroics and you're already blowing it out of the water.
the problem here, though, is one of offering advice based on such specific parameters. if we accept that your own reasoning was sound (which is a stretch) then it is still not good advice for others. on this board we strongly defend the reputation of the board's output and review all advice that is given to make sure it is sound. this is why criticism may be harsh for those offering bad advice to others.

I completely understand what you are saying. I should have made my usual raid makeup known from the start. I'd rather get harsh criticism then no criticism. Thank you
Edited for grammer and new info.
I'm taking your advise and will be respec'ing sometime this week. Especially with the new tier 9 set two bonus, I would have to be a complete idiot to avoid it at this point.
New Talent Build
Armory Profile
I will also stop gemming for socket bonus and go full out spell power gems, other then the two sp/spi purple gems for the meta gem.
Did I miss anything I can improve on?
I appreciate all the help you've given me so far; also, I would like to formally apologize for the flawed information I previously provided.

You said your ele shammy left the guild recently, but the fact of the matter is that for raid utility and usefulness, demonic pact is a must. You should've specced DP right then and there. It isn't just about caster dps, people often overlook the fact that the spellpower benefits healers just as much as it benefits the dps. Aside from that, if we're still talking about pure raid dps (which I don't know why else you'd be demo except for the pure raid dps), you'd be better off going with ember skyflare diamond since it allows for 2 extra 23 sp gems over 12 sp/10 spi ones in addition to the flat increased spellpower from the meta itself. The 2% increased int slightly increases your pet's int too, which indirectly increases your own even a little bit more through demonic knowledge. If you do have a melee-centric raid makeup then DP uptime should be no less than 90%, the 2t9 only increases that to 92-93% in practice, and often you will find 96-99% uptime in fights due to the fickle nature of RNG.
(on a side note, you have "
http://"
at the end of the link to your armory which gives anyone trying to access it an error before manually deleting it, you might want to remove that)
after looking at your armory, HOLY DEAR JESUS YOU HAVE TOO MUCH HIT lol. you can replace icewalker on your boots with 18 spirit, since the hit is wasted and 18 spi > 12 crit for a DP build (for most builds, actually). You can also drop your living flame and still be a healthy amound into hit cap with a majority of raid compositions.
