I suppose it would be ok if your having problems with too much threat. Otherwise just go with the chaotic skyflare.

arguably worth it for DP buffing demo locks but the 3% crit damage is so very nice that the 25SP becoming 2.5 for the raid is probably too minor even for them.
also the 2% is probably too little to be useful for locks that have have lots of threat problems. probably best to ask a friendly pally to have a macro to hand of salvation you.

of course that pulled threat *roll eyes* that would pull threat from an equally geared, well played tank every time, never mind a tank that isn't as well geared as you.
thing is 2% threat is nothing compared to the burst threat that actually gets us killed. it might have a small use in sustained threat problems across the length of a full fight, the kind of situation where your TPS is 5k and your tank's is 4.8k - eventually you will pull. however this kind of threat problem is VERY different to the usual kind of issue we warlocks have which tends to be having too much burst too early.
so, for burst, it's useless and for sustained threat reduction we have better tools. a well used shatter is a wonderful thing and hand of salvation can be incredibly useful. it's an educated guess but i would say that you would lose less overall damage by using the correct meta and swapping a haste enchant on the back for a wisdom (assuming you're not a tailor).

totally agree with vigilance. i don't play a warrior tank myself but as i understand it they get up to 15% with a glyph and at that percentage
transferred
, you actually can expect it to help with the burst as well as sustained threat.
i remember back towards the end of tBC when we were first hearing about the changes that would come with 3.0 i wondered how we would manage at all when they got rid of blessing of salvation (it was a flat 20% threat reduction and i could barely raid without it). well, we were ok because they increased tank threat from a x1.5 modifier to a x2.07 among a few other tweaks. however, as we get to the end of this tier we're getting into similar territory... or at least i am >.<

i must admit that threat isn't something i find fun in the game. as a DPSer i don't like having to wait 5-10 seconds and watching omen as often as i watch my DoT timers. as a tank i don't like feeling the DPSers constantly snapping at my heels.
i understand that it plays a large part in the game but it's just not a part that i'm enjoying lately... though if someone were to argue that i'm only saying that because i play a DK tank and i was only enjoying it because they were OP then i don't suppose i could put up a strong counter argument >.<

grats on the mount.
btw, the +21crit on the CSD isn't the bit we take it for. as you suggest 21 crit is very poor for warlocks and not nearly as useful as 25SP.
however
, by a trick of mathematics the 3% crit damage bonus becomes 9% after it interacts with ruin and that just makes it too good to pass up. that's the reason we take the CSD over any other option.
