- So glad the Hammerhead didn't make it.
Would you believe that Vega and Cortez actually have a "Serious Business" debate about which one is better? Mako Vs Hammerhead.
Vega thinks the Mako can at least take a hit compared to the "made of paper" Hammerhead, while Cortez prefers agility to something that "handles like a drunk rhino.
Personally? I'm taking Cortez's side on this one, I HATED that stupid Mako, whereas I think the Hammerhead is the most awesome tank ever made. I'm sad that you say its not in the game, lets hope they bring it back later as a DLC like they did with the Hammerhead on ME2.
- I think they jacked up my ship and made it less attractive. That's the alliance for you.
You gotta cut'em some slack, they took the cerberus ship, they took it apart to study it (And eliminate any nasty surprises they may have left there) and then rebuilt it and added new stuff to it, HOWEVER, the reaper attack happened before it was completed. The ship is flyable and fully capable of combat, but the interior design wasn't properly pampered before the attack.
This is why you see cables everywere, open covers, and a lot of the ship looks like a mess, but the areas they DID rebuilt correctly, look great. Me, I like what they did with the lights. Normandy on ME2 was WAY too white. I liked the darker colored ship on the first game.
Vega is much more entertaining that I though he would be.
Yep, 99% of the players brushed him off as "Jacob 2.0" (AKA: Most boring character ever) turns out he was a quite well written one. There are more than one that laments he's not a romance option.
the DLC character is much less entertaining than I thought he would be
Which is pretty fare standard for DLC characters.
With the exception of Shale, I've never found DLC characters to be superior or even equal to the ones included by default. I never really liked Sebastian on DA2, and while I sorta liked Zaheed and specially Kasumi on ME2, they were MUCH less entertaining than the default crew.
I like the new planet-scanning mini-game. Much less annoying.
really? that's great, cuz that was pretty much the one thing I didn't liked in ME2.
Character creator didn't let me remake my shep's face, but it did actually have attractive facial features and a nose selection that didn't look like she was recovering from a football injury, so if anything I'm sad this engine wasn't in the first two games. I did remake her a couple of times but I'm happy with the result.
really? that's a shame. I'm really glad this wont affect me, I'm fairly confident that if I was able to fully recreate the face of my shepard on the demo, I can do so on the full game.
I didn't like that for Vega and Kaiden that my conversation options were often Flirt of F***-Off, and nothing in between.
aww really? :S that sucks. At least with Jacob and Thane in the second game, you were able to talk to them without being force to use flirts and such.
And now here is a little spoiler: Its a very small one, and personally, I think its a pretty safe one to read, but I'll still use the tags out of respect to everyone else.
If you didn't romanced Garrus or Tali on the second game, they both start a relationship in the third game. D'awwwww

A @#$%ing list of possible romances in ME3. Who could possibly take that as a spoiler.

humm, to be honest, all of those are romances from ME1 and 2, which are foregone conclusions anyways, and the only 2 new ones have been known to just about everyone anyways. (And they aren't even fully fledged romances, they are more like 1-night flings)
so there isn't much to spoil.
You already knew Ashley Kaidan and Liara were romanceable in ME1, so it should come to no surprise you can do so on ME3 as well.
Miranda/Jack/Tali/Thane/Jacob/Garrus were all romanceable in ME2, so it should come to no surprise that you can continue those romances in ME3 (Except for jacob, but lets face it, who romances jacob? :S most boring character ever)

To add insult to injury, she then sends a photo to shepard's cabin, you can examine this photo to get a blurry and fuzzy image that somewhat resembles a face, but nothing really clear, is the closest we will EVER be to seeing her face. In a damn photo. Couldn't they just show us the face in... ya know..... THE ACTUAL GAME? jeez >.>
I can personally see the face just fine,it isn't blurry or anything
DUDE, use a spoiler tag, cuz while I found out about this, that's a surprise other people may not want ruined for them.
Edit: Well, I love this

I'm tempted to do the same but I'm gonna wait till I get the game.
I know its vaguely based of LETHAL WEAPON! =D which just so happens to be one of my favorite movies of all times.
(No Murtaugh you're not getting too old for this sh1t T_T)

I accidentally romanced Jacob in Mass Effect 2, true story =/ I was just super nice to him, and then he was pretty much like <3you and no one else would flirt with me anymore!

HA! that's what you get for being all mushy-mushy paragony XD
see the advantages of being RENEGADE? >=)
Since I romanced Liara on the first game and dind't wanted to cheat on her, I was VERY careful regarding conversations with Garrus thane and Jacob on ME2. And wasn't shy of using the Renegade options when needed.
People seem to think that Renegade options automatically make you a jerk or a racist or an overall mean person, but in reality, most of them are quite cool.
And I know of actually 2 quests that the renegade solution is FAR nicer than the paragon one. Conrad Verner, and the Krogan who wanted a fish in the citadel.
In both cases being Renegade yields far better results (And ends with both of these much more happier) than Paragons ever would.
You know, I also noticed something funny regarding romances in ME2.
If you were playing a Female shepard, it is YOU who must initiate the romance. Garrus may make a funny remark about how he and his Turian Girlfriend had a rematch to test flexibility vs reach, but it is YOU who must make the fist step. Ditto for Thane, and Jacob. At one point (Just after finishing their loyalty quests) you get a convo with them and picking the right option makes them interested in a relationship.
But Male Shepard is handled differently, because in his case, Miranda, Jack, and Tali WILL LEAP ONTO YOU. Seriously, all 3 of them will express interest, and its up to you to either accept or decline each of them. You don't have to do anything to start any romances, they will start automatically and you just choose from the menu. I can't say I like how they handled Romances in ME2 at all.

I guess Bioware wasn't joking when they said Insanity would be hard. Damn, I played hyper-aggressive Vanguard on Insanity in ME2, but it didn't quite compare to some battles in ME3. I'm getting my ass thoroughly handed to me here D:

First thing I did after installing ME3... 4 multiplayer matches. Lololol. I got a Salarian Engineer in my starter pack and his Shield Drain is pretty interesting.

I played a lot yesterday, and I can honestly say that no video game has ever made me this sad. It really is the emotional equivalent of watching "The Joy Luck Club."
Without going into spoilers, I just find that the atmosphere is just so poignant. Maybe because it's the third game in the series, and so you've had a lot of time to get attached to the characters. Maybe it's just because the story-telling is well done. But I literally have teared up like 4 times already. I know- I'm such a girl :P
I have seen similar moments in other Bioware games, of course. Watching Alistair give your Eulogy in DA:O was pretty sad. In Mass Effect 2, there is a Salarian and his Asari step-daughter talking about what to get her mother, and it leads into a discussion about how he worries she won't remember him after he dies, and that really struck me. But this game does such a great job of showing real desperation, and, just indomitable selflessness and bravery in the face of despair, that I am just hooked on the story.
It's a good thing they balance it out with so many funny lines, or else it might have been too much. As it stands, I have to say the story so far is really well done.

i can not agree more, a certain decision i made is making me want to restart the game because i feel like the meanest person in the world for doing it. To avoid spoilers i wont say it.
Seems like Bioware really decided to up the ante on giant decisions.

I know from snooping around online that I have already sidestepped a lot of the tragedy because of decisions I made in the first two games, and the fact that I completed every mission in ME 1 & 2. I can't imagine how much more depressing this game is if you half-arsed the first two games. I imagine that even in a renegade playthrough, the casualty rate is higher because of the nature of some of the renegade decisions.

Did ya read my quote above? once you have a properly specced Vanguard, they are so OP its not even fair to put them in the same league as everyone else :P (Well, this wasn't confirmed on Insanity, but on the second-hardest mode)
And yes the difficulty in this game is a REAL challenge. Specially in regards to enemy AI, I haven't seen enemies this smart since FEAR and Crysis.
First thing I did after installing ME3... 4 multiplayer matches. Lololol. I got a Salarian Engineer in my starter pack and his Shield Drain is pretty interesting.
¬.¬ you lucky bastard. I played on the demo countless multiplayer matches, bought hundreds of veteran booster packs and the only toon I was able to unlock was Asari Adept, and no matter how hard I tried, I just never could get that frikking Widow Sniper.
I played a lot yesterday, and I can honestly say that no video game has ever made me this sad. It really is the emotional equivalent of watching "The Joy Luck Club."

True that, heck, just the prologue sequence on the demo made me choke up a little when I saw the pained look on shep's face as the refugees get shot down. There were some moments in ME2 that also made me tear up a bit (Hello? tali being utterly devastated at her dead dad?)
and its the main reason why I play Bioware games. Few companies (if any) can mix such a vast array of emotions into their games. They have comedy, they have drama, they have suspense, even some down-right SCARY moments (Don't lie to me, you were scared as hell playing the Overlord DLC too didn't ya?) mixed with the generic action we gamers have come to know and love.
Its true that their games have their corny moments, but for the most part, they make for true excellency of storytelling in the gaming industry.
and BTW, if we're talking about depressing moments on ME3, here's one (that a cousin of mine accidentally spoiled for me T_T I really need to get this game NOW)
Warning, this is a big spoiler, its not related to the ending, but its SAD nonetheless so click only if you have an iron stomach.
Depending on how you handle a certain situation, Tali can commit suicide =(
Turns out, the Geth and Quarians go into a final war between each other, and you HAVE to pick a side. If you side with the Geth, ALL THE QUARIANS DIE, and tali, seeing her entire race wiped out, and her homeworld forever out of her hands, and all because OF YOU! simply kills herself. Thank god this can be averted either by siding with the quarians, or by having a sufficiently high Paragon/Renegade score that you can take a third option
Now THAT would be depressing :S

And now, Some of my favorite quotes from Mass Effect. (its from ME2 but its still awesome)
Shep: (When recruiting Garrus): "If I'm walking through hell, I want someone I can trust by my side."
Garrus: "I hope you realize that this brilliant plan of yours will have ME walking through hell too.
(When persuading Jack to come with you on her recruitment mission)
Shepard: "I'm offering you a chance to be my friend. You DON'T want to be my enemy.
Garrus: "They have a habit of dying"
(Alternate squadmates: Legion: There is a high statistical probability of death by gunshot......... A punch to the face is also likely.)
(On Ilium when shepard mentions to a cop that she has a right to disobey orders if its a suicidal one his/her companions will have GEMS to say about it)
Garrus: We can disobey suicide orders? why didn't I got the memo?
Miranda: Good advice, let's remember that the next time Shepard sends us against impossible odds.
Tali: Which is about twice a day.
and the king is of course legion: Shepard-Commander orders us to statistically probable death an average of 2.73 instances per day................ rounding down.
(Joker has these 2 lines to say about Garrus)
Joker: Hey Commander, we got Garrus back! That's great, because he was totally my favorite… with that pole up his ass.
(later on)
Joker: Commander I'm worried about Garrus, looks like he finally got that stick out of his butt... except now he's using it to beat guys to death.
(last one)
"Always the claws and guns. Why can't we invade a fuzzy planet for once? Sure, it'd still be dangerous but, hey,
bunnies
!"
This game is pure golden comedy.
What are some of your personal favorite lines regarding comedy or pure badassery?

Ok, Kaiden is a smuck.
Just had dinner on the citadel, and he says "Listen, I know why you cheated..."
For the record:
1) He called me a traitor and told me to sod off when he saw me come back to life.
2) For the better part of a year after that, it is implied that we've had no contact other than one e-mail where he was like, "Maybe after this, um, I dunno..." and had some half-assed apology.
3) When we meet up again, he's being a little b***h and still making snide remarks about me being a traitor, and a reaper construct.
I wasn't cheating. I was single.

/shrugs.
its why IMO the only good romance option from ME1 is Liara. Now the ones from ME2 were (most of them, jacob STILL sucks) much better.
I'm a little sad they didn't actually added any new ones in ME3. Because the 3 "new" romance options are WAAAAAAAAY underdeveloped compared to the main ones.
They are more like those meaningless "flings" the grey warden from Dragon Age 1 could have.
Now on an unrelated note:
Also, all those rumors regarding the ending...... I'm afraid they are quite true =/ There's only 3 endings, and while I wont spoil them, I will say they suck. In several degrees even.
Ohh well, this is still a great game anyways. I mean, Deus Ex 1 and 2 and Deus Ex Human Revolutions ALL had very sh1tty endings, but I still loved them
