Stop argueing. You get 1-10 dps with whichever might happen to be slightly better.
The difference is negligible. Get the first one you can and stick with it. They will do nearly the exact same dps.
The extra crit from marrowstrike will benefit you more if you aren't in greens.

Thus Edge of Ruin is 260 points ahead.
I think you forgot to account for the fact that most people would put a +20 str gem in Marrowstrike.
yup.
He sure did.
Edit:
It still boils down to crit vs ap.
the differences is negligible.
Here is where EoR really is better:
You don't have to buy an epic gem and an enchant... plus is it a bagillion axes duct-taped to a reaper, with some feathers thrown in for effect.
I just happen to like polearms.... boy id love an updated version of

Seriously.... Stop putting so much effort into this thread. The difference is negligible. Leave it alone. You won't notice a difference in DPS vs the 2 other than RNG being better or worse in the different tests.
Latency affects your dps more than the difference between these 2 weapons. RNG as well.
Let it die please.

Trevelyen, Ill recheck what ive done. (may have agi weight wrong)
Lightrain, what is it to you if we have a discussion about Wow gear in a Wow thread on a Wow website?
Post by
Lightrain
Because one person says "this." The other person says "that." Each says "ZOMG YOU FAIL YOU'RE SO WRONG!"
It doesn't matter.
They both do the same damage. Both are the same gear score. More AP vs. more Crit has typically leaned toward AP in the past and present.
You can argue all day long about which is better, but the end result is, RNG determines all. Don't bash your head on the wall over 2 items that are practically identical.
Better will be determined by gear.
1000 ap
30% crit
-answer- Edge of Ruin.
3000 ap
10% crit
-answer- Marrowstrike.
There has never been one thread of viability with any weapons of identical speed and swing weight that states, "this weapon is better than the other in every situation."
Situational is situational. RNG is RNG. Trying to weigh AP vs crit on a ret pally is GEAR BASED.
"Individual results may vary."
Pick one. Don't try to weigh it as "ZOMG THIS ONE POWNZORS!" They are the same weapon. Get over it please. This has been argued and argued and argued and...... Hey, they argued it over there and those guys over there are argueing it differently.
I
guarantee
You will not take one, test it 100 times, and take the other one, test it 100 times, and find out that one does, on average, more than 10 dps more than the other. Then someone else will test it the same way and get the opposite results. DPS results will be RNG based. They do the same damage. Leave it at that.
I'll leave you to argue a moot point against equal weapons to yourselves.

EDIT: Wowhead
agrees
!
Saying wowhead agree is a bit silly because you're using a false set of weightings. We even have a sticky in each class forums because they readily admit this.
Also your first set up there is also wrong (both our faults), because Agility is 97% as effective as crit rating dps wise.

Stat Weights for Retribution as follows:
Statistic Name | Score | Notes
---------------+-------+-------
Pure DPS | 588 | This is pure DPS on the tooltip of the weapon.
Hit | 125 | Caps: 263 PvE & 164 PvP
Strength | 100 | Divine Strength and a 1.1x buff modifier.
Expertise | 83 | Caps: 214 PvE & 492 PvE
Crit Rating | 50 | Agi to crit% ratio when 1.1x mod is in effect
Agility | 48.5 | This number reflects a 1.1x buff modifier.
Attack Power | 39.5 | Relationship to Str, when DS + 1.1x mod to str is active.
Haste | 38 | Make it.
Armor Pen | 27 | Effects roughly 40% of total damage.
Spell Power | 11 | Do not want
Basic reasonings:
I based everything off strength that has been buffed through Divine Sterngth maxxed and any 1.1 buff modifier. Thus Attack Power will reflect that, being 39.5 x 1.15 x 1.1 = 50, or, half as valueable per point as 1 strength.
For Crit Rating vs. Agility, you get 1% crit per 45.91 crit rating and 52.08 agility. Agility will be effected by the x1.1 buff mod and yeild 1% crit every 47.34 agility. Dividing them; 45.91/47.34 you get agility being 97% as effective per point as crit rating. Crit rating being 50 here I let Agility become 48.5.
Edge of Ruin
+121 Strength
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 62
Equip: Increases your armor penetration rating by 76
Score: 121str=12100 62cs=3100 76ArP=2052
total=17252
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marrowstrike
+106 Agility
Yellow Socket
Equip: Improves critical strike rating by 57
Equip: Increases attack power by 154.
Equip: Increases your armor penetration rating by 60
Score: 106Agi=5141 20str=2000 57cs=2850 154AP=6083 60ArP=1620
total=17694

Everyone knows this. Take what you can get and move on.
You're not getting that some of us like doing the math behind it and finding more accurate results through trial and error, so please -> \_ have a seat.
