My problem is I have JC maxed out yet I don't know how to make money off of it. I have 3 epic gem recipes that i use for myself (palidan tank). Please tell me what I can do to get the money in my pocket. If it requires auction house stuff or what... tell me how do I do it. Specifics please. Server is a very populated server. Missing the BC days where I jus made metas from alchemists and sold the gems for 200g +.

Ok ... I've been trying this out and yes, I made maybe 100g or so. but not enough to make a huge difference. Does buying the ore and prospecting in the end make up for the money i spent on buying the ore? I'm kinda scared to try that out. The main reason y im even asking this is cause i jus cant make gold... i do dailies earn 200 g a day ... but thats it... i hate to b cheesy like all those adds and stuff. But how do i make gold... i see ppl running around in the best gear available and yet on a traveler's mammoth / motorcycle and here i am struggling... no offense to anyone who worked theyre butt off for that... but jus wondering if im missing something here...

I have around 30 epic designs on my priest at the moment, I have pretty much all popular pve/pvp gems and yet I find that I absolutely cannot make gold from cutting them for other people. I did make a decent chunk of gold by cutting for other people the first week after patch since I saved up a bunch of tokens beforehand and was able to buy over 20 patterns on patch day. People were tipping 15-20g a piece for rarer cuts. Now I see people advertising their JCing having a couple epic cuts (generally 30 stam/23 sp/20 int etc) for 2g a piece.
Now maybe I'm spoiled but it just doesn't seem worth my time or effort to cut epic gems for 2g. I mean even before epic gems were in the game, the regular tip for blue gems was 5g on my server. Now even for rarer designs that almost noone has people expect to tip 2g since the other JCers are advertising for that much. Why buy designs I will never use and waste 4 dragon's eyes (around 400-450g or 4 gems to go into my own gear) so I can get 2g tips for cutting them. Right now I just stick to making icy prisms and checking the AH regularly for cheap titanium ore (as if). But i cannot say that jewelcrafting contributes in any real way to my gold stock.

The raw gems tend to be 15-20g MORE expensive than cut ones (assuming non-crappy cuts). Kind of paradoxical.

btw thx ppl ... i downloaded auctioneer and that lil sparky workshop one... it really helps me on setting prices for stuff in ah ... other than that though... i dont think i can do the whole stock market resale thing. Auctioneer is confusing to me... watched a video on youtube on how to use it, but anytime i see something set too low in ah... boom someone beat me to it.. lol oh well ... the beancounter is saying ive made bout 200 g in past 2 days or so ... which is from me getting rid of some extra gems... :) and im enjoying getting green weapons or whatever, and being able to see how much it goes for on ah. :)

I have a similar situation on my server. Cut gems usually are the same price or cheaper than the raw gem prices, and raw gems sell faster than cut ones. At least I have an alchemist that gives me a steady, albeit low source of cardinal rubies.
