As long as you have the North American version of WoW installed, then there is no problem. Latency might be a small problem though, although I've seen people play from as far away as Kuwait with no problems.

You can use a tunneling service to improve your ping, but without any trickery, you're looking at 300-500ms on average (or at least that's what all of my European friends seem to be getting currently).

You'd have to buy a new account at the very least. It may be possible to use your existing install by editing your realmlist.wtf file, but I would
not
recommend it. There may be back-end differences between region versions that could cause issues. Since you have to buy a new account anyway (there are no NA < - > EU transfers), you might as well just install the NA version while you're at it.

Might want to tag the folders and any shortcuts with which version it it - trying to log into the EU version with your NA battle.net probably won't work too well.
