Does anyone else feel that our minor glyphs are lacking compared to other classes? I see most minor mage glyphs as a novelty. I know all classes have similar novelty ones but many seem to have useful ones too.
What are your thoughts?

No reagent on slow fall is the best thing since sliced bread imo.
Anyways, if you think OUR minor glyphs suck, look at paladins, rofl.

pallys have a couple excellent minor glyphs.
BoM
is excellent for the soloing/questing ret pally.
Lay on hands
makes a ridiculous ability happen 5 minutes sooner if you oneed it. unreal.
those are about the only two good ones.. some people get the glyph of sense undead.. but it's only 1% dmg increase... not a whole lot IMO.
mages ones aren't bad.. but it seems like all mages have the arcane intelligence and slow fall.. In all honesty, when I was levelling my mage, I never once used the slow fall ability... not one single time. If I got in trouble, I learned to blink before I hit the ground and almost never died from fall damage. but since glyphs came out, I picked this one up and abuse the hell out of it.

other then the fire/frost ward, we do have crappy minors. Slow fall isn't that great, if you can't afford one bag slot for reagents that's sad....also you have two other possible ways to not die when falling....ice block and blink. yeah its a timing issue and for some it won't work with lag. Don't see it as a must have glyph. i don't use slow fall much, I just blink out of falls cuz it's more convenient for me.

it's not a matter of bag space for the reagents... it never is for any of the classes that have regent-erasing glyphs.. (shammys have glyph of reincarnation, water walking & water breathing, pallys have the BoM or BoW so you don't need a symbol of kings for 30m blessings, etc etc)... the benefit of the glyph of slow fall is the fact that.... in all honesty, i can only think of one place to get small feathers, and that's from the arakkoa you fight in terrokar forest.. idk about you, but I don't see many people pre-lvl 64ish who can go to terrokar, and once I get past outlands I don't feel like going back there unless it's to farm rep for mounts and such.
it's not a necessary glyph by any means... but what would you put in it's place?

I think that's the point, we mages really lack for choices when it comes to minor glyphs.

This is basically how i feel, i pretty much go with slow fall and reduced AI/AB. These don't really help our class, just give a little convenience.

feathers drop from tons of different birds around azeroth and outland. i level lots of alts so i never end up short on feathers. but that's me. but yeah as was said earlier, we don't have anything that's good to fill all three slots. the two wards are good for pvp but not really good for pve. The polymorph glyph is just something that's a novelty and not something that's really needed.
It would be nice if the evocation or mana gem glyph was minor. that way you could use one of the others to help out with your spec.

I've used Slowfall more in the few months i've had the glyph than I did all the way from 1-70 and 70-80. Since, as it's been said, we already have 2 ways to survive a fall. But Slowfall is much more convenient and allows me to dive off some high island or mountain and take a stroll through the scenery. =D
Minor glyphs aren't supposed to be class-changing or game breaking. They are meant to be a minor cosmetic change or a small convenience, which they are for the most part. Less mana off our int buff is useful in soloing/pvp, no Slowfall reagent means you don't need to worry about forgetting to farm feathers (Something I did often, a lot of falling deaths), and Polymorph: Penguin is the best thing ever. (Though the Easter one sorta hindered its impact.)
Though the Ward ones are the only ones that can be a huge bonus, but that's PVP-centric. Still, reflecting a big fire or frost spell is fun, but that bonus is comparatively bigger than the other minors.

there's no way in hell they'd make evocation glyph a minor. every mage would have one, and in pvp they'd have room for 3 OTHER good glyphs (because there's already a metric f@#$ton of good ones in pvp) and it would be pretty overpowered.
glyph of mana gem would be a good solid minor glyph.. that would be ridiculously helpful, and not make us too OP.

I agree, Glyph of Mana Gem would really help our class and it wouldn't be op or game breaking. From my experience as an arcane raider when i'm cycling through mana gem and evocation sometimes isn't enough but it isn't so much of a problem to warrant a major glyph spot when there are much better ones i can use.

i think mana gem as a minor glyph would be almost mandatory for any raider, doubly more so for arcane.
