((Well, read away. ))
- "So, from Quel'thalas Ranger to New Alliance member to Scarlet Crusader," Nilon summed up the full extent of Valinaria's tale. "It's a wonder that I never saw you during any campaigns."
- "You were in the New Alliance too?" Valinaria asked, Nilon nodded. "Then, how did you get to Stormwind?"
- "I'd rather not talk about it," Nilon said.
- "Oh, come on," Valinaria said, a disarming smile on her face.
- Nilon sighed. "I was in Kael'thas' division, a master priest. We were tasked with activating several observitories that would help Garithos and his commanders keep an eye on the Scourge." He paused for a moment. "After that we were tasked with fighting back a large Scourge group that was bearing down on our location. Before we had so much as a chance to mount a deffense they attacked. The Prince's base was unharmed but the other bases..."
- He trailed off for a moment. "I was in the outer bases. When the Scourge attacked we tried to fight them back, but we failed..." He clenched a gauntleted hand. "They sacked the base, killed my freinds, but I... I ran, I hid, and eventually made my way south untill I reached Stormwind." He lowered his head. "It haunts me to this day that their blood is on my hands, that it was
my
fault. I should have fought harder, maybe then-."
- "Hey," Valinaria said, "don't worry about it. The past's the past, what's done is done. You did all you could." Nilon nodded, smiling at his old friend, Valinaria smiled back.
- And Celen was fed up with it all. Using her magic she doused the fire a little bit by conjuring a bit of water inside the flames. "Looks like we need some more wood," she said as the light dimmed.
- "It looks like you're right," Valinaria agreed. "I'll wake some of my boys up, send them to go get some."
- "No, don't bother them," Celen insisted. "I'll find some myself."
- "Are you sure?" the female Blood Elf asked, but Celen was already walking away.
- Of course, she wasn't really going to look for firewood, she just needed to cool off. One Blood Elf had been bad enough, but now there were two of them. And, worse still, they were
friends
. Hate boiled over in her, and she cast a firy spell that incinerated a nearby rabbit.
- She made up her mind, she would kill just have to kill them. Wait,
both
of them? No, just the male one. No, not the male, the female. But why not both? And why couldn't she make up her mind?
- A deep, throaty laugh sounded behind her, and she spun around, spells ready. But it was onlly Thrrag. "What do you want?" she asked bitterly.
- The Orc grinned. "I spent months learning to read body language. I figured that it would help me in battle."
- "So?"
- "So," Thrrag said, "I can read you like a book." Celen blushed slightly. "I had never thought you felt that way about the Paladin."
- "I- I don't know what you're talking about," Celen said, trying to sound firm.
- "Your reactions to the female Blood Elf's presence, I've seen similar displays of pure hatred among the Horde's wolves during mating season."
- "What? No! I don't- no!" Celen was disgusted by the very thought, but, at the same time... "So what do you think I should do?"
- Thrrag picked up a bundle that was sitting at his feet. "I advise you to follow your heart." He threw the bundle at Celen, who caught it. It was wood. "They expect you to return with that," he said, then turned away.
- "Even so, what would the Paladin do?"
- Thrrag shrugged. "I would hope that he would do the same, were I him, that's what I would do."
- Celen shook her head. "Like you would have anything in common with him, though." She walked back towards camp.
- Thrrag, lost in thought, hesitated. "I do, more than you understand."

Focus
, Morec told himself,
it's all about the focus
.
- Morec held his runeblade over the corpse of Whitemane, the unholy rune funneling power into the woman's cadaver. On either side of the makeshift alter were Garen and John, they too were funneling their powers into the body.
- "And now, RISE!" Morec released one final burst of necromantic energy into the corpse, then waited for the reaction.
- There was none.
- "Ha, ha, ha, ha!" Arceus laughed. "Another failure! You're just as weak as I thought."
- Morec scowled and wished many painful re-deaths upon Arceus. But he was as confused as he was angry with Arceus. Why wasn't it working? Necromancers had no problem raising the dead, and the Plauge-.
- Morec's eyes lit up. That was it, wasn't it? The Plague! Frantically he looked around for a source of Plague - deciding to ignore Arceus in order to avoid punishment from his master. His eyes centered on a wandering ghoul, and he turned his power on it. He pulled the Plague out of the zombie, killing it in the process.
- Like a cloud of dust the Plague gathered above Whitemane's corpse, and Morec stepped up onto the altar. "Now, you
will
rise!" With a roar he jabbed his blade into her abdomen, funneling the Plague and more necromantic energy into her corpse.
- The cadaver's eyes blinked open, and yellow light filled them. Morec stepped off of the alter and waited as the corpse began to stand. The necromantic energy had done its job, but it also had corrupted the Inquisitor's appearance in the process. Her once white hair was now pitch-black, her skin had gained an undead-green hue, and even her red, Scarlet Crusade uniform was now mostly black.
- Morec smiled at his handiwork. "Whitemane no longer exists, my servant," he said. "Arise and serve me, Darklock."
- "Yes, my master," Darklock curtsied.

I was wondering when Celen there was finally going to show a bit more of a sigh of "liking" then just constantly despises the paladin.

Well, but then again, Morec probably is happy that he has such a fan like you, lol =], anyways, I can't believe Darklock's new look... its just not as hawt as Whitemane... =
Actually Flying I'm looking into getting a restraining order. lol
As for Darklock's appearance, she looks exactly the same a Whitemane exept for the differences I mentioned.

So am I correct in saying Darklock is a referring to the hair, not as in an actual warlock.

Hmm, I'd say 6-7, levels may vary depending on whether or not you have
necrophillia
.

Writer's Commentary:
- For those of you who are having a hard time invisioning Darklock,
here's
a link to the pic that inspired me to add her to the story.
- And if I could have made the fact that Celen loves Nilon anymore obvious in this page, please tell me. And that poor, poor bunny. Still, what did Thrrag mean by his last words there? The mystery deepens.
- What will happen now? Night will be over soon and Nilon and his companions will be on their way, but with Morec ridding around in Trisfal will Valinaria and her men be safe?

What I am wondering is Morec in specific now. We haven't heard much from his warlock master, and I remember him wanting to break free from the Lich King and turn on his master.
Hasn't shown too many signs of that. Also, Garen and John seem they should play a bit more of key roles.

First: Itheac is a Necromancer, not a warlock, second: Morec's battle with his himself will pick up.
As for the death knight brothers, they play the role of bodygaurds, mindless warriors that serve Morec. They wern't intended to give much plot, just to give the dark side more power.

I hate having to wait to post, but I think I'll mess with your heads a little bit. Here's an bit from the upcoming page
- Dawn in the Trisfal Glades came slowly, the sun creeping up through teh sky only a little bit each hour. Nilon and his companions began to gather up their belongings to continue on their way.
- "Are you sure that you don't want to join the Crusade?" Valinaria asked. "We could always use a Paladin of your skill."
- "I'm sorry, but no," Nilon replied, "I have a duty to Stormwind to complete my current mission."
- Valinaria nodded. "Well, in that case; good luck."
- "Yes, good luck," a monotone voice sounded. "You'll need it,
if
you manage to survive me this time."
But here's something to consider: is this real? Or have I conjured it up to mess with your minds.
