What I use for my alts. Cause simply stating " I have done the instance / raid in question hundreds of times on my main ( Even linking armory ) seems to not be enough.

Must be my server, but I never, ever, ever see anything in trade saying "Link xxx Achievement for invite." Never.
And really, people need to stop #$%^&ing about it here. Barely a week goes by without someone posting another topic here complaining about Such-n-thus group they didn't get invited to because of an achievement link. Okay, we get it, you think it's a stupid practice. Either talk your way into the group, or get the achievement (or be lame and fake the achievement).

I don't find asking for achievements as annoying as everyone seems to think.
- Sure, as DoctorLore says, you can get carried through almost anything and it shows no personal skill, however, at least it shows you have a basic idea of what to do (Well, that's not so important for Koralon as it's pretty much just ''stay out of the fires'', but for Emalon and stuff it's a valid point)
- Often when asking for people in Trade for a pug, you get spammed with lots of whispers. Achievements are kinda a good way to sift through the people who don't know anything about the place.
If you didn't ask for achievements and you just say ''Whisper me'' and tons of people whisper you saying ''Invite'' or something similar, then you either have to be very trusting, or armoury every single one.
Normally I ask for people to whisper me with their HP if they're a tank, SP if they're a healer or expected DPS if they're a dps, and an achievement. Yes, some people might hate me for it, but with my crappy internet I can't armoury everyone as they whisper me, and I don't just want to invite any random people who whisper me.
If someone gives me a good enough reason why they don't have the achievement or something, I'll normally armoury those people and invite them (E.g, someone who hasn't played in a few weeks but are still very experienced)
Oh, and before people say ''But experience is so much more important than gear'' I know that, but you can't tell how experienced someone is from a whisper. You can however make a rough estimate at how well geared someone is if they whisper you their stats. (E.g, you know 38k unbuffed on a tank is good, or 2600 SP on a healer or something). And in the majority of cases, experience tends to come with gear.
My advice? Just join a good guild and don't do PuGs, avoid the experience altogether :P
This is one of the reasons I don't even reply to idiots who post for achievements in chat.
Thanks for sucking the life out of a video game.
Its a game people....I've done Koralon on one of my toons but have yet to do him on my warlock. Does that make me a bad player?
Experience does NOT come with gear.
Join a "good guild"....and what exactly makes a guild "good"....just because they can down a few bosses? This alone does in no way make a guild "good".
Sad.

A couple days after Koralon was released, I got into a 25man group of it and it was a PUG. Yes, we failed...but that isn't my point.
First attempt we got him to 31% and the best we got was 5%.
For a PUG during the first week of Korlan, thats pretty damn impressive IMHO!
That is impressive....but according to the elitists who require massive dps/achievement links or being in a "good" guild....you're not ready as you don't have the achievement yet.
Apparently these same people somehow got the achievement without ever actually killing him...or they wouldn't have gotten into their first raid as they wouldn't have been allowed into it.
Ebay toons ftw!

Lead your own raid, or shut the hell up. And if you don't have enough credibility to lead a raid, then you've got more problems, in my mind, then just not having an achievement.

I have not been, nor likely ever will be a raider, so I have no dog in this fight...
That said, your post + your user name = delicious irony.

Not true, the guild I'm will ask to see your alts and check their achievements if you apply, and I'd say we're elitist.
So apparently you never had to get the achievement the first time?
Did you get your toon off of ebay with the achievements already done? Or did you have to get them the first time with a group? Because with this elitist attitude you'd never be able to even get into your own guild.
Just curious...because its this elitist attitude that sucks the life out of game. Seems to me you enjoy WoW as more of a job than a game.
Just my personal opinion.

I've wiped enough times from tards standing in the fire that I think asking for an achievement is okay. No one likes repair bills.

i was thinking that XD everyone has their bad days ;)
Zorrah, I dont think it's got anything to do with treating it like a game or a job, well perhaps I'm wrong in a way.
It about the effort you put in, you would be shocked (if leading a raid) at how many under geared chars will gladly /w you for an inv to an instance they are not rdy for (gear or exp). And if your enthusiastic abotu something you want to do it right yea? In a MMORPG like this, the only real way to do this is to group with like minded ppl who can prove it.
I nvr considered ach when applying to a guild, only gear, and my previous raiding exp (as I state it) across all chars.
Even if you are Exped, if you pull 2k dps you wasting other ppls time. but at least you didnt die in the fire right? no...
I don't rly like the ach thing in essence as it is not raising the bar so to speak, it's just creating a situation where any idiot carried by a guild once, can easly get into a pug, and guys who have the gear and XP cant.
Maybe if Blizz were to make linkable ach (account wide) so you can link your ach from your main, and perhaps a gear score, certainly not a permanant solution. and wont help me as my chars are across 2 accounts.
but there's no point in just QQin without try to think of a solution (as I do all the time) :P
