that way still a cost if its dispelled by mass dispel etc. but also not all of the mana is lost. Also the mana isnt sent straight back to the paladin unless he/she is the only mana user in their group. (yes, group mana return like Mana Tide) i just felt it wasn't 'Heroic' enough as it was xD
Oh and my version is aimed at Holy unless it can be thrown like the DK's DnD =o
I didn't quite envision that it could be dispelled, but with that in mind, I've only got one word...

Heavenly Army
Casting time of 5 seconds
Channeled for 5 seconds
Cooldown: 20 minutes
Range: 30 yards
Tooltip: Summons 10 Archons that will resurrect nearby fallen allies, rejuvenate comrades, and deal massive Holy damage to the target.
Actual: Battle resurrect's up to 10 dead characters, in order of distance from the caster. Each resurrection sacrifices an Archon. Remaining Archons can then cast a 15sec raidwide HoT for 3000 health (600 every 3 seconds) each and restoring 0.5% total mana per 3 second tick, for a maximum of 6k health every 3 seconds, and 25% mana over 15 seconds (same as Divine Plea), if no players are resurrected. Archons will also Holy Shock the enemy targeted by the player for the same damage as the player's own Holy Shock skill (prerequisite talent). If noone is targeted, then no damage will be done.

A 'heroic' ability would be much more heroic if you could only use it when certain conditions are met, e.g.through a tenacity system. Players would gain tenacity for dealing damage, healing, taking damage, and their allies taking damage or dying. Of course, you will lose all tenacity upon leaving combat or when using your 'ultimate ability'.
Just a silly example of what that would do:
Fury of the Heavens
100 Tenacity
Instant cast
The Paladin becomes affected by
Avenging Wrath
. After 8 seconds a rain of holy light will fall upon the battlefield for 12 seconds. Holy Rays will inflict holy damage to enemies, heal allies and may resurrect up to one (normal) or three (heroic) raid members.
The problem with a abilities like these are that they're terribly hard to balance. Should you only be able to use these abilities in PvE? Should only one paladin be able to use this per encounter? Should only one class be able to use his ultimate ability per encounter?
