Why would this cast on yourself, unless you've turned on that option in the game preferences? Just turn it off.

#showtooltip
/stopmacro
/cast Lay on Hands
Give this a try. It should cancel the macro if the target is helpful and dead, so if you are targeting a dead mob it should still cast on you.
Something else to try since I just realized this.
#showtooltip
/cast Lay on Hands
This should cast if your target is helpful and alive, try both (I will later when I get on my paladin as well) but I think the second one is the more efficient one.

Not sure but I believe that macro will still cast on you if your target is dead.
If it doesn't work try/cast Lay on Hands

High five is correct use his version, dead evaluates positivly if the target is dead, so wouldn't cast unless your target is dead.
Did you even read my macros? The first one stops the macro if your target is dead, the second one is the same as HighFive except I didn't use the Target=Target line which I don't think is needed since I believe the default is your target.

you can do:
/cast Lay on Hands
The first part targets the player and does the cast is he is not dead...
The 2nd part is to target the mob who is attacking a player. The spell will target the player under attack and cast it if he is not dead...
