untrue :)
1000 spellpower is for dmg
but 1000 spellpower is something like 1660 bonus healing, i dont know exact coefficient, but i think its 1sp=1,66healingSP so if holy light get 166% with 1000 SP(which is 1660 healing SP) its 2755,6 bonus healing to holy light
edit: because coefficients doesnt change since BC and in bc good healer got 2000 healing, it will be weird on level 80 have 2000 healing, so today healers with 2000 spell power got 3320 healing counting in BC system :)
Oh my bloody god please leave the mathematical discussions for the adults.
This is nothing you can bring with you to kindergarden and ask your class mates how it's done!
Spell power is spell power. If you dont believe that i suggest you read a newspaper and realise it's 2009 now not 2008.
With a 166% spell coefficient HL receives exactly 1660 healing from 1000 spell power.
Your final assumption that one would receive less healing when they merged SP and bonus healing is just so incredibly wrong i begin to wonder what you were doing when wrath was released.
When blizzard merged spell power and bonus healing they INTENTIONALLY increased all of the coefficients on spells because one would in turn get less bonus healing but the spells should still heal for the same amount they did before the change.
Seriously you're just so very wrong with your entire post that i honestly got frustrated reading it.

svirve in bc casters gear was two types: for example one type gives you +9 bonus healing +3 bonus dmg
second type that gives you +5 bonus healing and dmg, when wotlk comes out blizzard summarised bonus healing and bonus dmg to one spell power, so 1 spell power is equal to 1 spell damage and 1,66 bonus healing, so as you wrote it gets 1660 healing its not true, it gets 1660 spell power you msut multiply this with 1,66 to get exact amount of bonus healing with holy light
did you even played wow before wotlk? :) and after wotlk? did you noticed that summarise of spell damage and bonus healing to one sum called spellpower?
edit: pls take that two last lines with humour svirve :)

Some of what you say is true, that there was bonus healing and spell damage prior to wrath.
Anything that had +healing on it would also have roughly 33% of that number as spell damage to make life outside instances and raids easier for healers.
But i already said this....
The part that you're not comprehending is..
Blizzard merged spell damage and healing power into 1 stat. Which is spell power.
When they merged the stats they
increased coefficients for all healing spells
to compensate for the smaller amount of spell power one is able to stack compared to bonus healing.
Now this is not true since i cant remember the HL coefficient prior to the merge but it's just an example.
Prior to SP/Bonus healing merge HL had a 133% healing bonus coefficient.
Post SP/Bonus healing merge HL was given a 166% spell power coefficient to make up for the loss in bonus healing.
This way you would have less +healing on your paper doll char sheet but you would still heal for basically as much.
1 spell power is 1 spell power. No matter what spell you're casting.
Though spells have different coefficients which makes that 1 spell power more or less effective.
There is no general coefficient for a certain type of spells.
