Java ModelViewer - Textures not loading...

I apologize if this has been addressed in the past, but I did what I felt was a thorough search and didn't find an answer to my problem.
The issue that I'm having is with the java version of the Wowhead modelviewer. When I use it to look at character models, their hair doesn't have a texture. When I use it to look at a character model with armor on, the shoulders and helm don't have a texture. When I use it to look at a weapon, none of the textures load and any glows show as pulsating white boxes (no texture, again).
My java version is 1.6.0_18. My OS is Windows 7. My browser is Mozilla Firefox v3.5.5. I've tried various things, like deleting the temporary files (General Tab > Temporary Internet Files > Settings... > Delete Files...), deleting temporary files manually (Same section > View... + Select All + Delete), checking that my virtual machine is working properly, disabling and then re-enabling java in the browser, and I've also tried reinstalling java.
Please let me know if there is a fix for this issue, as I really prefer the java version of the modelviewer for the animations and 3D acceleration.
Thanks.

I'll ask
alayton
about this one, but I'm honestly not sure if there's an easy fix. The Java viewer borrows a lot from external libraries, and Java is a little temperamental. We might not have bothered with a Flash viewer at all if Java hadn't been so touchy about whether or not it wanted to work. :P

I appreciate the reply. Please let me know if you find out any additional information.
I have a fair amount of skill with computers so even if the fix (if there is one) turns out to be advanced I feel up to the challenge. ;)

If textures aren't loading for you (that do actually exist), it's due to the texture loader not understanding the format that they're in. What makes Java so incredibly awesome is that the format it loads images into isn't necessarily consistent.. Yet it won't load them in that way for me, so I can't figure out how it's actually loading them. I'd like to find a more robust texture loading solution at some point..
