I disagree with pretty much everything you say here. =)
Ardent Defender is an incredibly useful ability that only becomes more powerful the better gear you get. Yes, in its first iteration it wasn't that useful because it could be leap-frogged but with the change and our extra stamina, that is incredibly unlikely. I have around 18K stamina in raids, so when my life goes below 6.3K AD kicks in, Considering the number of AOE pulls and such a paladin tank has to take care of, this is an incredibly useful skill. It has certainly kept me up a number of time.
Anticipation is pretty necessary as paladin too. Yes, when you are getting T6 gear the defense offered by the gear might be enough to compensate, but until then, you need it. Especially when it comes to resist fights like Hydross (where you can't be crushed, but you can be crit). Also given the pain it is to be uncrushable as a paladin, the extra defense goes a significant way towards helping that and lets a paladin socket gems more towards becoming uncrushable instead of worrying about being uncrittable.
Finally, Guardian's Favor is not useful. In five mans where there is only one healer it can be nice, but when you are getting to raids, you're not going to have time to BoP someone. Healers will die because they get hit by various spell AOEs (in which case BoP is useless anyway) or the mob melees them. Unless you're fast enough to BoP them BEFORE they are hit, they're going to get one-shot anyway.
If you're going to spend a lot of time in PvP, then sure, it's a useful ability. But a raid tankadin should never take it.
/agree
nice one there ;)

as for me, when i start up WoW again, i'll spec into something like
this
yea, it's not a good raiding spec or a AoE farming spec, but i live in 5mans, heroics, and low level instances, and i have a healer with me all the time, so survivability isn't an issue in instances or farming.
it's completely dependant on your gameplay i guess, my healer knows me well and can time the heals perfectly
and my life schedule won't allow anything more than kara, gruuls, mags or maybe ZA so i'm fine with my spec for raiding, since it's entry level raids ;)

It's My Talent And In My Server All Point Worked
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=sxZE0x0x0dgtqzxcx
i took a look at you talent...
you have 5 points in divine strength and nothing in improved righteous fury?
toughness, imp. dev aura, redoubt and nothing in shield spec?
nothing in combat expertise?
please, do explain your talents, i'm curious as to why you've specced that way, your talents go against everything anyone has said, told me and all the theorycrafting that have been done
i'm sure your spec works somehow but i would love some explanation as how it works, it's just groundbreaking for me to see such a spec...
with your spec, i would have gone with something like
this
as a base
and
this
for max survival

No reckoning? you fail.

No reckoning? you fail.
reckoning becomes less useful as you progress in the game, as with redoubt...
more avoidance = less proc
with uncrushable, you're looking at ~50-65% block
let's say you have 50% (for calculation's sake)
50%*10%(proc rate) = 5% of the swings that the boss mob makes will trigger reckoning
5% of 3 sec swing timer
over 3 min combat time
~60 swings at you
reckoning procs 3 times....
that's maybe 12 more swings (assuming the reckoning doesn't proc to renew itself)
you with 1.8 attack speed
~100 swings
12/100 = 12% more swings
that's about 5% more threat generation overall... much like one handed swrd expertise, except that this is more unpridictable and becomes weaker as you get more avoidance
