Is the Shaman a dying class?

Ever since the launch of BC (IMHO), Shamans have almost been the joke class in PVP. Patch 3.2 is looking to finally bring shamans up to par with the rest of the classes. Being able to drop 4 totems in one GCD is all win. Now we don't have to wait 4 seconds to start DPSing or healing in world PVP or moving fights. The increase of base health and (rumored) increase in gear stamina values will give us the survivability needed to stay up in tough fights. Shamans have been the hardest class to master for quite a long time. The new patch is going to make them much more user friendly and more in demand.
It's nice about the totem situation that they are doing, however, I still think they could have done a little more. Just my honest opinion.
They did - totem stomping macro's will no longer work in 3.2 and I'll now enjoy /lol at every hunter and lock I see... for like an extra 15 seconds before I eat the floor.

Maybe we will be seeing the first Enhance Shaman usable Legend weapon some time in the future?
They had the first ever legendary.

Enhancement lacks controllable burst damage. A triple Windfury crit is nice, but how often does that happen? And does it even make anyone in PVP go: "Oh that hurts! I wish you were a Paladin instead!" -- ? No, of course not. Make Stormstrike guarantee a Windfury proc off your mainhand with an increased critical effect chance, without resetting count of the Windfury hidden cooldown.
This would definitely be too overpowered. Think about how much burst damage we would be capable of, there is no way Blizzard would allow this to happen. Although this would be a helluva nice buff, some shamans may start using 2 handers (god forbid how great vanilla-wow was one shotting people with 2h wf procs). Shamans using 2handers is something Blizzard does NOT want to to go back to.Stormstrike did guarantee a WF proc in vanilla afaik.

Shamans are supposed to be the Hordes equivalent of pallies. Hands up if you think a shaman is equal to a pally. No one? You in the back? Just stretching?
Well
originally
, that's how it was supposed to be. Shamans were going to be the third tank/dps/heals hybrid along with druids and paladins. Then Blizz got something up their butt and out went the tank tree.
Ah well, the changes can only mean more good things :D
