Not everyone has Alienware. MMO's can be taxing on your computer.

It's no use saying "Blizzard generates $15x11,000,000 profit per month", because it's not true.
When all is said and done, they probably clear less than a dollar per monthly subscription each month.
Exactly, I have no idea what it works out to per subscriber, but that's the general idea.
Also, Blizzard US and EU both combined don't have 11 million subscribers. It only reaches that high of a number when you include the asian countries, which don't charge as much per month.

Graphics are fine, they just need to redesign the faces and body size on humans.

The graphics are fine more or less. I'm sitting on a gaming rig made by myself, so if I had the option to enable a 2 or 3-pass
HDR
,
Depth of Field
, and gathering nodes showing up at 1000 yards away I'd enable it and be the so much happier to grind away for a whole day just taking in the eye candy such simple effects confer.
The only thing that I really REALLY want from 4.0 is round wheels... not octogons or hexagons... that always bugged me because the number of polygons is extremely low on most world and character models. The only thing that makes up for and covers up the blocky feel of the game are the very well done textures, those I like, and can only feel admiration for the designers on doing a good job on them.

I like the cartoonish graphics. It's classic Warcraft and I hope they never change it. If you want realistic go play a first person shooter or something. Are they doing all they can to make a good game? Yes, they are catering towards the whole crowd now, not just hardcore players anymore. Want to raid as a casual? Do normal modes. Want a challenge as a hardcore player? That's what hard mode is for. The game would be a lot better if the players themselve's did not QQ about everything so much.
I pretty much agree with everything you said there, so thanks for saving me the effort of writing a post. ;)

Increasing the graphics cuts off a portion of the player base that can't run a higher graphics game. Less players = less subscribers = less money.
More graphics also means less people running multiple clients, and thus, less subscribers.
It's just a smart business move on their part. Not to mention, I've become fond of WoW's art style. I'd miss it :(

Blizzard has a unique art style with the Warcraft series. Look at Warcraft 3, ever since rendered into 3D, Blizzard has had a comical viewpoint on their models and characters.
If you want graphics, go play Aion.

I wouldn't say comical, but a little cartoonish and exaggerated. Comical implies humorous, which I wouldn't say about the way things look in WoW or WC3.
