so for a mut rogue with imp poisons whats the best ip/dp, dp/wp, dp/ip?
the question was asked for Mut rogues with imp poisons.
i was under the impression that Mut rogues should have 2 slow hard hitting daggers. (2x1.8)
so in what way was my response to this question wrong?

DP is still frequency based.
So a fast weapon will get stacks on there faster for your next envenom or whatever.
But if you have no trouble getting a DP stack up before your next envenom and you can use two 1.8 speed weapons I can't imagine it hindering your DPS. As long as the 1.8 you use in your OH is a higher DPS/DMG weapon than the alternative fast weapon it should be an up in DPS.
For mutilate, the OH is all about applying the DP stacks quickly and efficiently. As long as you get those stacks back and are able to envenom you will be fine. Also a 5cp envenom does the same amount of damage regardless of whether you have 1 stack or 5 stacks of DP.
I don't really know about slow OH, but the additional stacks of deadly might beat out the DPS/dmg increase of a slow weapon.
It would be great to look at some screenshots of recount under some tested conditions.

This is
incorrect
, according to my understanding.
If you have 1 stack of Deadly Poison on the target, you will hit it for same damage with 5CP and 1 CP Envenom. Only one stack ("dose") of DP is consumed on the target, therefore damage, according to Envenom's tooltip, will be calculated using the formula for 1 stack of DP. Having extra Combo Points will only make the Envenom buff last longer, but it will not make that particular hit stronger
