Laihendi doesn't know enough specific details about those religions to get into a big debate about them.
But they believe in a God! How can they prove that? Their God, therefore, must not exist!
Right? Isn't that what you believe?Laihendi believes it's stupid to live your life by a religion that has no evidence supporting the claims it makes.

i dont think the bibles god gave two s#$%s about the lands laws as long as didn't go against his. so as times changed his policy changed to cover the times, hence the slave laws. the change in sacrifices, and even poligimy...
But why wouldn't he care when some of the land laws go directly against other teachings he would sponser?

Yes, but WHY do you believe in slavery? (You see how annoying this can get?)The difference is that Laihendi is quoting the Bible, whereas the bible was dictating what is right and wrong.
And Laihendi was quoting entire passages out of the bible.
Which I discussed, bringing up how it may not have been God's intention, and how it was very progressive inhibitations on slavery for the time, and brought up other passages that show how the Bible is obviously not all about slavery.
You ignored everything I said and went right back to those two isolated verses. You do this in all of our arguements. You bring up a good point, I bring up a good counterpoint, you wait 4 or 5 minutes, and then repeat your origional point. Go back and look at the Ephesian's scripture I linked. Address what I say when you are debating with me, or expect that you will be ignored by me in the future.

was it the bible that taught the whole eye for an eye?
That was Hammurabi.

i think he did care. and there was something said about it. can quote. been a while since i read that book.
Oh yeah, look at that. But the slavery thing, if that was a "land law", Im pretty sure that it went against the rest of the teachings in a few respects... why is that in there?

The bible is supposed to be the word of God. If it says it's ok to beat your slave as long as he/she doesn't die, you can't just say "oh well God didn't really want that to happen". If the bible
really
taught timeless values, then you wouldn't be able to say that is was progressive "for it's time".
Address what I say when you are debating with me, or expect that you will be ignored by me in the future.

times changed and the bible changed... you can not take everything the bible said and say it applys today. civilizations change... along with morally right and wrong.
But the bible is true in all ways shapes and forms.

Well, that part about it being ok if after you hit your slave really hard, and he happens to dies 2 days later...
That seems pretty bad.

so i can take out an eye of my enemy if he took mine? and i can still make blood sacrifices to the bibles god?
The Code of Hammurabi
If a man put out the eye of another man, his eye shall be put out.
