I'm not sure who is a "epic" rogue in warcraft lore, but I'm sorry, I have to correct something I saw:
Bolvar was a paladin, not a warrior.

Velen is not a priest. He isn't really any class. He just loves the Light, like all Draenei. He is Priest/Paladin if you have to characterise him as a class in WoW but he is a complete diplomat, as far as I am aware he has never fought. He is too pacafistic, is he not?
Undead rogues make the most lore-wise sense to be respected because of the Deathstalkers, and Garona was a rogue, and she could be classed as "epic". Maiev was a sort-of rogue (Warden is like a warrior/rogue I think), and she could be seen as bad-ass.
Edit: Gul'Dan was a Warlock.

Now that you mention it only rouge that is good is Maiev and Garrona :S . How about Fahrad from ravenhold? Or some backround from Ravenhold

So.. You wouldn't consider being behind the scenes, building the story out of the sight of common people, epic? Murder of King Llane Wrynn was certainly something - and it did have some far reaching consequences. It is true that rogues don't really hold that epic feeling of bashing in people's skulls in the frontlines, but that's not what they are for, lorewise.
As for famous rogues - Garona, Valeera, Maiev, Elling Trias? Ring any bells? Only Valeera & Maiev were more of "combat rogues", but I hardly consider either as epic as Garona or good ol' Mr. Trias.

Maiev is a Warden, not a Rogue.
Which is why I said she is a warden, which if characterised into current WoW classes is sort of Warrior and Rogue-like.

Well technically, Warden is a prestige class derived from rogues. Deep down she is a rogue, but, not exactly as one would think. I'd describe warden as an anti-rogue rogue. There's a reason we have Fan of Knives you know..

Tyrande is not a Hunter.Obviously. Where did this come from?
And on topic, I would like to note that I play my rogue as a simple hitman. He doesn't get any glory. Few people have even heard of him. But he's one of the best at one he does. And what he does is kill people.
He's not epic in the sense that a paladin is epic, but he very well could be a legend among thieves and killers.
