Why do you think Blacksmithing became obsolete?
I doubt the season 1 gladiator gear/weapons can replace the tier3 or even 2 versions of Bs. crafts.

jewelcrafting... i can never find enough of the right cut stones on the AH. plenty of the ones trainers teach, but none of the good ones. find a world drop recipe or buy a rare one from AH, cut them & put them on AH for profit.

BS T3 weapons... comparative to early raid weapons...
on the paladin forum, the naaru's hammer from maulgar in gruuls is compared to stormherald
not worth it imo

This is impossible to advise you on without knowing your class. Even with S1 being obtainable through honor, some of the gear from BS is still far superior to this gear for PVE. If you PVE more than you PVP and you are a class that bennefits more from BS don't drop it. You also have to look at the patterns that drop from the 25 man dungeons that are BOP.

This is because the patterns that drop people want outrageous ammounts of gold from. Combine that with the fact that you can make monier easier from prospecting ore and selling gems than you can from cutting gems and you realise that most patterns sit on the AH more than they sell and most people get the reputation patterns while bypassing the BOE patterns.
If you are making a 5 gold tip (or selling crafted gems for 5 gold more than normal gems) and you are looking at a pattern that costs 500g then you have to cut 100 gems to make up for buying that pattern. If you literally think you can make your money back in a year by just cutting gems then you are probably overestimating demand.

Not entirely true. It totally depends on class. The weapons that come from BS have a very little impact on the paladin class. For hunters, enhancement shamans and dps warriors, however, the BS weapons are some of the best in the game at T1-T3 and when you go above T3 they are some of the best weapons in the game for those classes.
