Since tanks are probably the least plentiful component of a group, i would say prot warrior
i dunno, all 3 have extremely different game-play styles so i think it's best if you try them all out first, get each to level 30 and see what you enjoy

Go warrior.
Many, many servers lack skillful warriors so you'll never have a problem with getting a group for something.
Also, some of the most needed for raiding are Warriors. Should get you into a nice spot.

Agreed tanking warriors seem to be in the shortest supply, finding healers is a bit easier on most servers. In terms of playstyle, you have these options to switch between depending on your choice:
priest: healer or ranged damage-dealer
mage: ranged damage-dealer
warrior: tank or melee damage-dealer
Those are all valid choices for raiding and 5-mans, provided you gear them well. Priest is probably the most painful class in the game to level though, since they're fragile during the early levels.

I have to say I disagree with this one. In shadowform, they have as much mitigation as a fury warrior in plate, but the fury warrior doesn't stop mid-fight to heal himself. I found the priest to be the fastest leveller of the three, simply because there was no conceivable way for me to exhaust my mana pool.
Interesting. It may have changed recently, more +spelldamage at lower levels eases the levelling of priest a lot since you kill faster, your shield lasts longer and you get more Spirit Taps. Either way once you get Shadowform at lvl 40 it does get faster and safer, but my experience was even with Spirit Tap and a decent amount of Spi gear and wanding to stay outside the 5s rule I still needed to drink every 6 mobs or so. Which is annoying without a ready source of drinks, you'll need to get guildies to supply you or buy them. And talking about immune mobs, solo'ing your way through Duskwood, Stranglethorn, Plaguelands or Hellfire you will come across quite a few shadow-resistant mobs which will slow you down.
At least with a fury warrior you have first aid and food combined to top up your health without hassle, while mages get Evocation as well as drinks, druids Innervate and locks Lifetap and Dark Pact. Overall, my experience: warlock (fastest) > shaman > mage / druid / warrior > priest. Though that's probably coloured a little by playing druid and priest first, shaman last and levelling the priest mostly solo.
I'd never recommend levelling a non-dps spec though ;) As resto shaman or protection warrior you give up so much solo questing speed it's not worth it, although of course you *can*, there's nothing stopping you if you want to and group a lot.

If you choose a warrior, be arms or fury for leveling to 70 then become prot. As prot you can still make money. I go fishing, farm ore/herbs and can sell them to make money. This way you don't have to slowly kill things to make money.
If you already have all 3 70, go with what you like to do more. People say fury can't control aggro, but they can. They can do a lot of dps fast, you just have to watch your threat and not go over the tank.
Because of the temporary threat reduction from distance that ranged dps has, they can put out a litle more threat than the tank before they pull aggro so their damage spikes aren't as bad as a dps warriors.
I am not saying that a warrior is better, it is just what I know the most about. Mabe someone else will comment about the other classes.
