Oh heres a good one. I dreamt of getting that white staff from the staff vendor in Nelf city, I put my very sweat and soul into getting the gold and level for it. I felt so proud when I accomplished my goal. I showed it off to everyone.... It was around 5g and level 40...

...I thought that my hunter could tank because he was BM.
He could. And SV can tank as well. I'm sure that MM has encounters where they would be wonderful, I just haven't tried them.
Hunter tanking is so much fun.

My Ex best friend swam from Stormwind docks to Swamp place because the fish there sold for a whopping 96s.. and later when I questioned him (He was level 80) He said. Yeah I was such a noob, I should have fished for gold in Northrend! I was like.. /facepalm

... thought that you were supposed to click the fishing bobber(?) instantly after putting it in the water, needless to say i never got any fish and might've spent 10+ hours altogether trying to get any fish.
... tried to talk to Horde as Alliance because they were going to kill me
... tried to swim from Darnassus to Darkshore, not understanding that the boat could take you there. As i died from Fatigue i tried to find my way around the "Death Walls", needless to say i failed.
... bought strenght gear off the AH for hard earned money, thinking that my rogue would be outright awesome if he would just hit harder. I had not bothered with dual-wield.
Tl;dr: You might wanna read the instructions first if you're new to MMO/rpgs.

Made my first chat, a Dwarf warrior on a pvp server.
- I was 100% certain that jumping while running would make you go faster.
- Thought that Kharanos was the main city for dwarves
- Spent hours and hours just mining copper and then I sold around 200 ores (didn't know how to smelt, lvled through mining only) to vendors for around 20 silver cuz my bags were full.
- Thought you had to pay real life money to use the bank
- This random guy gave me 1g so I wouldn't kill a few mobs in a certain place ( Wanted to take a cool screenshot ) and I bragged about it for a month
- Thought that if you equipped a green for just a second or so it wouldn't go soulbound
- Did dungeons and thought "
I don't wanna pass... but I don't wanna be a greedy bastard, need on all!
"
- Spent all my gold on the AH buying random greens
- Died for the first time at lvl 20 or so and was all like
"no...NO!"
- Did my defensive stance quest at lvl 26, didn't have money for all the new skills and deleted my char
Made a new char... a Night Elf Druid
- Thought I'd get Dire Bear form when I was doing the Cure poison quest at lvl 16
- Lvl'd Resto cuz I could heal myself more that way
- Was 100% sure that moonfire spam + Drinking ALL THE TIME was solid DPS
- Lvl-d Extremly slow, around 20-30 in a month or so
- Did tons of BG, got srsly good at it, too ( Bragged about it )
- Spending all my money on herbs so I could level my alchemy and then bragged about it
- When I was around lvl 51 I got my first
epic world drop
, screamed and bragged, a lot
And there's more...

I'm pretty sure I didn't use any talents until about level 30. Also, I never bought any new spells too. lol

Hmm...well, after a long run with Guild Wars, a friend convinced me to give WoW a shot. After finding out that Horde and Alliance can't quest together (who knew...?), I delete my beloved forsaken warlock and create a NE druid. Wanting to meet up, and having no idea where I was going, my friend makes the slow journey from the human lands with his 60-something warrior to meet with me in northern barrens. Foolishly following the Gold road, I stumble into a Horde camp. In a panicked frenzy, my friend starts fending off the NPC guards to protect me. I throw a good-natured, but near-useless, MotW and Thorns on him wanting to help. Shortly, a L70 Hordie shows up and slaughters my friend, and then chases me down and one-shots me as I make a futile attempt to flee on foot. We're both confused as to how the Orc was able to attack us on a PVE server, and my friend comments that we must have turned on our flags by mistake. It wasn't until months later that I discovered his fate was sealed once he attacked a flagged NPC, and mine followed when I threw on my buffs.

When i first started playing i never knew what party chat was, so someone would inv me to an instance and we'd wipe at some point. On the way back we'd often get seperated and they'd still be talking to me, i'd answer in /s. I could never understand why they got mad at me for not answering them :p
and tbh i'm still a noob in many ways, like i still dont know what ftw means>? Everyone seems to use it, if someone could tell me that'd be great :D
For The WIn.

Hehe, awesome topic, got a few laughs while reading it.
I was such a noob, that I ...
- didn't know I could choose classes and races, so my first character was a night elf warrior named 'dkfgjbd'.
- figured out the art of killing things, but didn't know how to pick up loot. When I checked my bags, things were not in there.
- tried to run all the way to Dolanaar but got pwned by a lvl 5 owl...
- later I made an UD lock and did just fine until I had to enter undercity... :D
- didn't know anything about different channels, let alone abbreviations
- I didn't repair or change my gear. Ever. When I got red gear I tried clicking on that icon under the mini-map and didn't figure out it was showing me my destroyed gear
- When I played on a pvp server I tried to attack a fellow friendy player because he took a quest moob from me, to "show him who's the boss"...
- answering in /say to whispers because I didn't know how to activate them
- abused the 'emote' section on every poor soul that happened to be in the same place as I did and I didn't stop until they either went away or log
- I thought 90 silver for a guild tabard was an insanely disgusting price
- kept asking people where they 'got that kitten following them' (nobody told me about the crazy cat lady)
- walked all the way from theramore to barrens, only to find out I forgot to take the succubus quest from my trainer
-thought that swimming behind the ship would take me to Kalimdor anyways
- right-clicked on a flagged horde.
It was fun <3

Oh, to add one more to my previous post:
while exploring teldrassil I managed to jump over the edge into the water and couldn't get back on land and also managed to destroy my hearthstone while swimming mindlessly.

I did that when I first started, except it was in the lava in Ironforge. So I couldn't unstuck either.

When TBC came out I had already been playing for quite a long time, but was still noobish in that I never paid any attention to patch notes or anything... so when I rolled my first belf I didn't know about the orb of translocation in Silvermoon City (or the portals in Shattrath! BAH!) and I wanted to gain rep with Darkspear Trolls for a raptor since chocobos aren't my style... so to get to UC I ran all the way through Ghostlands to Plaguelands, died, and ran dead all the way to the graveyard in Lordaeron... what a waste of an hour! One of my funniest, silliest WoW memories...
I remember buying white armor items from vendors in the Valley of Trials also... <g>
Did the very same thing, runnin from SC to UC, runnin dead all the way...LMFAO...
Same.

Thought a mount was 40 copper not 40 gold and ran all the way from the NE starting zone to Darnasses expecting to get a badass mount.....I was lvl 3 at the time...

I once swam from Booty Bay to Swamp of Sorrows, cos I didn't want to risk doing through Deadwind Pass.
Halfway there (about 15 mins in), I saw a bugged bit of terrain on a beach, and promptly got stuck in it. I used the "stuck" button and raged when it just hearthed me back to SW!

I started rolling a warrior because they can equip all gear.. and I didnt want to miss anything.. And at lvl 12 I heard about 'a city on an island' somewhere (Darnassus) so I left Elwynn Forest to travel by foot all the way to Wetlands, when I finally came there I discovered there was nothing to see and I ended up questing in Darkshore..
