...having a mage with 450 Mining/Herbing do laps around Sholazar Basin with a One Button macro to switch between the two prof's.
Takes an hour to pull in anywhere from 100-150g. Depending on random factors (Frost Lotus drops, Eternals in a stack) it can vary a little bit.
Already having the EFM helps with speed a bit, but it's not vital. A normal flyer can do the same pretty much.
Anyone else feel inclined to share how they bring in the coin?

I go to Google.
FTL.
I do dailies, farm quests, and sometimes farm oldgame stuff (that still worth money, and almost no1 farms it).

After hitting around 30-40k gold, skip farming/dailies to earn achievements.

=S...that's less than what you would get just by grinding dailies, which happen to also give you rep (at least for a while)
I get my gold by winning at the AH.
I burnt out on dailies back when Island dropped. Never again.
Also topped out on rep, so that's not needed. 3 hours nets far more than dailies. Dailies are yuck.

A combination of things. Questing and dailies are two ways. You can make a ton of gold by doing quests at 80. My Lock hit 80 while still in Grizzly Hills (after doing Borean Tundrea, Howling Fjord and Dragonblight). Now she's getting nice gold for questing. Last night, she made 130 gold in an hour just doing Argent Dawn quests in Zul Drak..and there's still Sholozar, Storm Peaks and Icecrown left. My Paladin has Sholozar and half of Icecrown left and is doing a ton of dailies. My 80s are both 450 alchemists and herbalists and make good gold, My 60 DK is mining/skinning and made 2k gold just getting his skill levels to 300. I wouldn't even take him to Outland without having his mining/skinning at 300 so he could farm in Outland.
If you have at least one gatherer to sell and make gold, then you are good. The mistake most people make is to level up crafters only. Then they wonder why there are always broke. My Lock started off as mining/herbalist. I kept half the herbs she gathered and sold the rest and sold ALL the ore. When she hit 65 I switched her over to alchemy. With the herbs I'd kept stockpiled it was easy to get her alchemy up. Start off gathering and roll or change over to a crafting profession later but always have a least on gatherer.
People who buy goal are just utter fail. There's no reason to do this.

With an AH cut of 5% that's pretty poor profit, making 60g pr. sale with a rather big down payment. Trying to corner a market when there is less than 10% profit in it seems pretty risky, a slight hick-up and you're screwed..
Such as with every raid and five man heroic now dropping Conquest emblems. Surely no one is going to be getting their runed orbs now!

I make mine by DE-ing high level greens that I buy for under 5 gold on the AH. Seems dull, but when you buy an item that's <5 gold and will most likely yield 4-5 infinite dust (each sells for about 4.5 gold per 1) then it's pretty decent. And when it's not northrend items, then i'll DE BC items for Arcane Dust, and after that i'll check for cheap high level vanilla greens and sell the mats from those.
On my other toon, I just buy low/sell high. =]

I sell glyphs (about 100 to 150 posted at a given time) and
Snowfall Ink
. I don't make a ton, but it's about 200g daily for almost no time spent.
Apart from that, in my brief two hours I may have nightly, I solo old world stuff for rep items and greens to shard, and have two gathering profs on my main to "opportunity farm." (If there's a weed or dead animal in my path, I'll grab it. Otherwise, all mats come from the AH for Inscription.)
