It still isn't THAT off the mark, but missing FoN and starfall is pretty bad. And of course, he needs the 3rd point in IFF.
The worst spec I've seen was a bear druid without mangle tanking heroic VOA. That was a fun emalon.

+10 points for the Dr. Strangelove reference.
I never give anyone advice unless they ask for it, because odds are if they don't ask, they don't want it. And if they don't want it, it doesn't matter how correct or valuable it is, they will get all
butt hurt
. Sometimes you can instigate a request for advice by substantially out-doing them in less gear (I've done this to a few "LEET EPIX" Ferals who fail miserably at
John Madden'ing
) and then pseudo-accidently pointing it out (obnoxiously scroll the DPS which clearly shows your superiority in /raid).
If you don't have a moonkin that can out-dps him, or know one, then odds are he'll never take your advice seriously anyways.

He didnt have mangle at all? or imp?
Becuase tank specs don't use imp-mangle.
Its probably the biggest waste of 3 talent points in the entire game.
I did a huge mathimatical post on this subject months ago proving exactly how worthless it is.
Im too lazy to dig it up.. so just know this..
Im right
Mangle is bad.
Word to ya moms.
No mangle whatsoever. He had basically a default bear tank build.. minus mangle.
His defense was that he had enough threat without mangle. (Also add in he was in mostly pvp gear or gear with low hit/expertise. I don't know what kind of dps he'd been keeping aggro from..) He has, since then, gotten mangle, but has numerous other mistakes in his talents.
As to the poster asking why we care about other's talents - It affects us too, if those players are in our raids. The OP is obviously talking about a druid they raid with. When I'm raiding, I want people to actually pay attention to their own damn class. Not make stupid mistakes in things like talents, where you can just go to elitist jerks and find a talent tree in 3 minutes. People getting weird talent builds while raiding is holding back the raid and everyone in it.

Why do you have any wish to inform the person as to how bad their talent chooses are? It is their toon, their $15/month, their enjoyment.
You sir cause wipes, and the dismay of others. People should care about their builds and rotations and do research to crank the most "umph" they can out of them, not talent in whatever random garbage they guess is best.
Oft times I attempt to group with people who have perfect talent trees only to find they know nothing about their class play with resultant wiping of the group within the first 2-3 trash groups. On the other hand I've seen people with highly questionable talent trees who consistantly achieve amazing results since they know how to squeeze out every bit of damage possible... ...Trying to prejudge someone on their talent tree, gear choices or their racial selection is just plain silly.
How can you say that someone is choosing questionable talent when you yourself admit you've not done the research?

Oddly enough, you appear to be putting words into my mouth that I never said. I do a lot of research, which is why I feel comfortable making talent choices that do not align with popular beliefs. Every talent point I spend is based on my personal play style combined with research made to determine optimal pathing for me - not for some mythical person who plays optimally with some other talents.
My statement about people with questionable talent trees and who do amazing DPS was a comment about how some people are able to do very well without using the approved cookie cutter tree selections. My own toons are a very good example of this. Very questionable compared to accepted talents, yet able to perform very well based on actual Recount numbers (usually well above the norm for their class/level).
Now please stop putting words in my mouth and limit discussion to what is actually said.
My comment has to do with the fact that you are claiming the "right talents for you" are the best choice. When the right talents for your role could possibly be very different. I've not seen your builds nor do I know what you do as an everyday thing in wow but if someone wants to give you advice you can take it with a grain of salt and explain your choices or you can not try to better yourself and just live where you are and never try to improve. Don't judge another without allowing yourself to be judged in return... Simple tenant to live by but amazing results....
