How can I configure Omen so that it gives me a warning when I lose threat? Basically, how do the prot warriors have it configured?

Omen doesn't let ya know when you lose aggro, it'll let your dps know when they've GOTTEN aggro. I use the WoW UI combat text to let me know if I'm losing aggro. A big "Losing Aggro" will show up above the mobs you are tanking.
Otherwise on bosses and such Omen should show you how far ahead your aggro is. You should be the top bar, and the 2nd highest is right below you. This works in groups when you properly mark targets etc. For example if the first target is skull, you should have that targetted and it should tell you how far ahead in aggro you are. The rest of the mobs should still be on you unless a dps is attacking the wrong target.

Make sure as a tank, or MT, you have Omen set to recognize that. There should be a little checkbox in the options which may make it easier for you to recognize yourself on the meters. There's also an option for healers, etc. if I recall correctly. Check it out!

As an X-Pearl user i got the big red
Aggro
in the center of my screen. If for some reason it turns green i know i just failed.
Used to use MTlove2 as well (showing targets on mouseover) but it doesnt seem to work any more, and there are some featerures of it already in game interface.
