How to play a paladin

I just started up a paladin and was wondering how to play one effectively. Most of the info that I have found is mostly what to do high lvl or end game, but I want to know what to do at lower lvls. How to solo, what spells to cast when, partying, etc I got a blood elf pali which is going to be a retadin and I am lvl 12 atm, if you need any other info, I would be happy to provide it.
Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated.
(side note: Normally I would read the wowwiki to get an idea of how to play, my options on what I can view right now are limited since I'm at work and they have a web filter up. Anything considered gaming is off limit, but wowhead works somehow, lol)

The way I have been playing is like this. I basically use aura of devotion and keep up blessing of might. When in combat I use SoC, judge it on target, cast SoR and judge when it is about to expire and re-cast or if the mob is close to dying I will judge.
Make sure you have a slow big hitting 2h weapon and your gear stats should be heavy with strength, attack power, stamina, and agility in that order.
I also keep a healing set that is high on intel, spirit, and +healing. I use this set when I am playing a main healer role in a party. I keep up BoW during these times.
This is how I play and has seemed to work very well for me so far up to lvl 37. This is my first pally and I understand your frustration that all the info seems to be geared toward lvl 70 pallys.

Yeah, Seal of Crusader is what I use. Cast it, judge it, cast Seal of Righteousness, judge it when time is up or mob hp's are with in the seals damage range. Been working for me.

once you improve seal of the crusader and have mobs that have 1k+ hp, you want to judge crusader first.
this applies to most elites and mobs ~35+
then you want to stick to seal of command for damage.
it also is noted that seal of command is ppm and so it's better to have a higher speed weapon if the DPS is similar
having said that i have been able to kill elites 2 levels higher than me (killed 18 elite at 16) and was pleased with the effects

Thanks for all the advice everyone. Killing mobs has become a lot more efficient to me though I wish I would have realized this sooner.

The easiest way to get to know in-depth in how to play a paladin, watch The whole "How to paladin"-series on youtube.
please, no... god... no...
besides, that guy is a prot spec, doesn't help with learning paladins in general

Seal of command < Seal of righteousness for DPS in PvE. It's so much better in every way, and if you take sanc aura, imp SoR, and imp SoCru, you can take down mobs so much quicker than with SoComm.
not with a caster/fast weapon, with a caster/fast weapon (i.e. king's defender or continuum blade) righteousness does so much more damage
plus, righteousness deals more damage than command when judeged without target under a stun

for high(ish) DPS, go with ret till either 40 or 50. once you have reached one of hose levels, go prot, and get a nice shield and nice sword. once you reach 70, go holy (hopefully this cookie cutter pally healer crap will go away with the new inscription profession).
at 70, go whatever you want, tanks are always in high demand on my server

I don't think you heard me, but I'll put it to you this way, since you're not actually reading.
SoR > SoComm
Which way I actually put the > DOES matter.
Oh, and for future reference: with every weapon, SoR does more than SoComm in the long run anyway, which is what yer lookin for in pve.
bleh, sorry about that, i read your sign wrong
SoC does more damage than SoR in certain situations though, my prot paladin hits 400 with SoR in his spelldamage gear and 200 in his tanking gear, the weapon hits for 500 so SoC proc will hit for 400 in tank gear and 500 in his spelldamage gear, that means even if it SoC procs only 1/2 the time it evens out with SoR, for ret paladins the ratio is much bigger, SoC is much superior to SoR with high damage slow weapon
if you have enough AP to hit for 1k/hit, then that's 700/SoC and SoC procs almost every swing with a high speed weapon, which is MUCH higher than SoR 200~400
aka if you have high spelldamage SoR is better, high AP and SoC is better

SoC has around ~40% proc chance with 3.80 speed weapon so I dont see how you can proc it almost every swing, blademeld.
maybe it's just my luck... my ret is an alt and she only got SoC recently.. so i guess i was getting lucky for a while *plays his tankadin*
