How do YOU survive without Replenishment?

Consider 10man raids. You can't always have someone bringing Replenishment.
Many times our healers (myself included) had to really scrape by to avoid OOMing in several boss encounters. At these times we literally popped every last mana returning thing we had and most of the time just barely made it.
I know all too well that the devs intentionally made Replenishment a mandatory buff and it's a world of difference when it's present versus when it's not.
My guild's main healers are myself (Discipline), a Resto shaman, and the occasional Holy priest or Resto druid.
So, how have you managed to get by without Replenishment? Anything exceptionally weird you do? What about Ulduar? Can you get by in there without it? How?

In OS I have gone through it without Replenishment, same as in Heroics.
As Holy I NEED replenishment or I find myself going OOM very quickly. Disc, however, has been much more forgiving. I can go without a single drink as Disc in a Heroic without Replenishment, Rapture & Arcane Torrent do most my regen.
Also, it is times like that which I am glad my priest has reasonable Spirit Reserves compared to other Priests.

Getting by w/o Replenishment is easy...just be way over geared for wherever you plan on traveling. However, the buff nearly doubles my natural mp5...
It's also beneficial to have some regen trinkets around. If you find your longevity lacking due to a lack of buffs, swap throughput trinkets for longevity...or even something like Darkmoon Card: Illusion (+100 sp and 1200 mana every 5 min).
Use a fiend/HoH combo when necessary and pot if you have to.
Still, the easiest way is to be over geared...it tends to help a lot for some odd reason.

Great question. Basically I swap out trinkets & consumables for mana-intensive fights. My gear has enough spellpower to handle a few changes. Normally I use spellpower trinkets (
IDS
and
EBM
) and flask (
FW
); without replenishment though, all that changes.
Trinkets
- I've kept around some blue heroic-level trinkets for regen.
Spark of Life
Energy Siphon
(which recently replaced
Winged Talisman
)
Ruby Hare
(gemmed for int...I rarely use this one, but it's pretty cool when I do)
I never picked up
Living Ice Crystals
, but it certainly would do the trick.
Consumables
Pickled Fangtooth
Guru's Elixir
Draenic Wisdom
(there might very well be better regen flasks/elixirs, but these are cheap and serve me well)
Dark Rune
(yes it's a tiny amount of mana, and it uses up your healthstone cooldown, but when you're desperate, you're desperate! I keep a stack on hand at all times...they're on AH for 3g each usually, and sometimes down to 1g or less)
Potion of Nightmares
(I haven't used these yet, but they return more mana than a
runic pot
)
Other stuff
: I used to keep a
Wispcloak
around for regen (enchanted with
Darkglow
), but no longer use that. Heck before I got boots from Naxx25 I kept around my old
badge boots
, which have pretty good regen compared to the other level-80 options. I could even imagine a desperate disc priest using the
spirit trinket
from OS10 for tight spots.

I don't rely on replenishment for mana regains.
It's that simple. I'd rather rely on my own mana regen. Which I do. So I never have issues without Replenishment :P

Umm...does that go for all buffs? Do you expect to walk into a 25 man and be able to heal it w/o any buffs? Replenishment is just another buff, albeit a powerful one, but a buff nonetheless. Buffs are a primary part of a raid composition.

No, I expect to get the basic buffs such as arcane intellect and some form of a paladin buff (King's or Wisdom.). Replenishment is appreciated and very nice, but I generally don't rely on it because a lot of people are greedy and go for pure DPS builds. And I was referring more to 10 mans (I.E. 10 man Ulduar primarily, way past 10 man Naxx or OS.), though 25 mans are generally nicer because then I NEVER worry about mana in any way shape or form, while in 10 mans I occasionally need to use a shadowfiend. (Though that's also usually on bosses like Emalon when the tanks are undergeared)

I'd like to add that it helps if you coordinate your Hymn of Hope with other healers.
Giez is on the money here. I did this in our ten man Ulduar, and successfully two healed hard modes without replenishment by timing Hymn with our Resto Shaman's Mana Tide. I saved my fiend for additional regen later in the fights as needed.
Spark of Hope
is also invaluable when you don't have replenishment.

I use Mana replen trinkets. My current two happen to be the
Figurine - Sapphire Owl
(with +int) and the
Spark of Life
. I also use
Pickled Fangtooth
when the going gets rough or i find i need a little extra oomph for regen.

I do wonder why you would pass a regen trinket to a Warlock, though. No DPS class should ever gear himself for regen.
So polite. Please slap the warlock silly, then the raid leader, then the disc priest who passed! Unless you were saving your roll for a more useful item later in the raid...then (and only then) will we let you live.
Anyway, Spark of Life is most useful on Vezax. It's the mana-cost reduction (more than the spirit) that's win.
Back to the point at hand --
First step is to convince a Replenisher to spec for it.I love to have it; and as Val said, it's built into the game design. However, if we don't have it, that's when things get fun. I enjoy the challenge. Working around tough situations is my favorite part of the game. Which is why I have all those regen options in my bags (see my original response above).
