Holy Paladin - Healing Question

So I've got a question, I started healing for Karazhan recently and I'm still learning how to really raid-heal (I hit 60 after BC, I'm a noob). I only had to spam flash heals in 5-mans, and I know I need to use Holy Light a lot more now, but I run out of mana kinda quick sometimes. Should I use a down-rank, and which one? I've got 1086 Healing, 107 mp5, and 9183 mana unbuffed.

Well, firstly you probably shouldn't be the only healer in KZ with those sort of stats. My paladin has about 1800 +healing and 11.5k mana buffed and he can't solo heal for anything past Attumen.
Generally speaking, unless you've been specifically told otherwise:
For trash, spot heal with Flash of Light/Holy Light as needed.
For bosses, heal a single target (usually tank) with Flash of Light/Holy Light as needed.
Flash of Light > Holy Light in so many ways. If you downgrade, your only costing yourself more in the end.

While I'm not a raid Pally. I hear of many Pallys using Rank 7-9 Holy Light as their main heal. Heals for a pretty decent chunk, and its not the mana hog Rank 11 is.

Thanks for the replies, everyone.
Oh, and I'm sorry if I made it sound like I was the only healer, we usually have at least one other, but it's cake when we've got two other than me. (I love healing with Druids especially).

Spec with illumination, and with light's grace.
Keep the Light's Grace buff up, which will reduce your holy light with .5 seconds. Use rank 4 HL's to do so. Furthermore, focus a bit on crit, and illumination will get you your mana back.
Flash of light the rest ofc.

Thanks for everyone's help! I'm up to +1188 healing, 106 mp5, 17.59% holy crit, and 9213 mana.
Here's my armory link,

I know I really need new chest/shoulders/back/neck/pants/shield/weapon/ring. And I've got shaman healing gloves to replace those druid healing gloves, just gotta get the enchant/gems for it.
Any help is still appreciated, just try to be nice. :)
(Oh, and I'm loving the class forums! go WoWhead team, go!)

Main points:
1) You should be set to healing one target, preferably a tank.
2) Keep Light's Grace up at all times by casting a rank 4 Holy Light every 10 seconds or so, instead of a Flash of Light.
3) At all other times, just keep using FoL until your target takes spike damage at which point it's time for you to start using rank 11 Holy Light.
4) If the spike damage is too much for you, make sure you use your Divine Illumination, Divine Favour, mana potions, trinkets...anything to keep you casting and healing until you've got the situation under control.
5) Have a shadow priest in your group - helps incredibly.
6) Use add-ons like Grid, Clique, PerfectRaid to optimise your healing.
As your gear improves you'll find it easy to keep tanks up. With the right add-ons and key bindings, you'll be able to heal so quickly you'll be able to help out on raid healing in emergencies. With experience and confidence, you'll become more and more efficient in your healing.
