can some one answer this, what is the difference between Hit& expertise? I am a pally tank & I'm currently over hit cap. Some one mentioned that I need to also be expertise capped. As it was explained to expertise keeps a mob/boss from dodging your attack. But always thought if you're hit capped you don't miss on an attack anyway. to be honest I feel dumb about it now so if anyone has a simple explaination of both hit & expertise I'd love you to share.

Hit helps you avoid getting 'miss' on your offensive abilities. Expertise helps you avoid getting 'parry' or 'dodge' on your melee offensive abilities.
8% hit completely removes misses against bosses. That's the 'hard cap'. No more will do you any good in normal situations. (this is for 1h or 2h but not dual wield)
6.5% expertise will completely remove dodges against bosses, and will remove just under half the parries. This is the 'soft cap', more will only avoid more parries, which can only happen if you're standing in front of the boss.
14% expertise will completely remove the rest of the parries. This is the hard cap.

As a prot paladin, hit is more important than expertise, as the only attacks you have that can be dodged or parried is auto-attack.

It's the same as your avoidance, you have a chance that incoming damage will miss, or that you will dodge/block/parry or be hit by the attacks.
Hit effects miss and expertise effects dodge/parry.
Bosses have 8% miss, 6.5% dodge and 14% parry.
Which means that with 0 hit and expertise, you will hit the mob 70.5% of the time (99% - 8% - 6.5% - 14%)
If you are hit capped (8%) with minimal expertise (16 for a paladin) then you have 86.5% chance to hit the mob (70.5% + 8% + 4% + 4%)
Mind you, judgements, ShoR and exorcism/taunts are not effected by expertise but they are dependant on hit.

No need to start from 99%
We're not casters back in TBC, 100% is 100%
