I am currently a combat daggers spec just starting in SSC. I joined the guild after they started there and that was my first raiding instance with the rogue. Gear is mostly epic, crafted primal strike stuff, heroic drops and a few badge purchases. Weapons are a crappy blue MH dagger and a OH is a Feltooth Eviscerator
From reading a few posts here and elsewhere it seems that combat swords is the way to go in terms of max raid dps. The question is, is that going to be true on a high latency connection as well? My average lat is 500-700ms.
My current dagger build is http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0gcoLZMIVobEz0MGotV
which I want to tweak a little anyway if I stay daggers.
With regards to swords I don't have any weapons for that so I need to work towards that. I have enough honor for the season 1 OH sword.
I am thinking of a few options for MHFelsteel Longblade
,Edge of the cosmos
or I could look at farming honor for the season 1 MH, but a.) I suck at pvp and b.) I suck at pvp.
I am not to interested in builds at this stage. I have a nice build ready to copy off here.
Should I go swords over daggers with my latency or does the latency not make that much of a difference with either build?
For a swords build which of those mentioned should I farm for?
Finally I think I already know the answer to this one however, should I buy a crappy green sword and respec now or wait till I have one of those more "decent" weapons?
Of coarse I have my eyes on the Talon of Azshara, but my DKP is still way below everyone else so the chances of getting that anytime soon are rather low.
Latency isn't as big of an issue in PVE and if anything a sinister striking spec is going to give you less troubles than a directionally restricted spec like combat daggers.
The spec with technically the highest DPS is combat fist/sword. Combat sword/sword might be a better idea for you due to raid drop itemisation at your guild's progress stage. http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=f0ebovZMIVobVzxMGot
Felsteel longblade is a piece of trash, 2.2 speed. It makes neither a decent MH nor a decent OH. Go for the VB.
Wait until you have the swords before you respec. The arena is a good place to pick up an off-hand. Alternatively you could pick up a Latro's Shifting Sword
which is also a superb OH.
