Druids
Stats
Health - 25,000 - 24k is Pushing It... but possible
Armor - 20,000
Defense - 0 - You will be uncrittable through talents
Dodge - 28%
Hit - 2% to 3% - at least
Expertise - 2% to 3% - at least
Attack power - 3000
the bigfactors not mentioned instats
-do you know how to tank?
-positioning mobs
-agro
-marking mobs
-knowing the boss fights
-how good did you spec
- healrer
- how good are his stats
- does he know how to heal efficiently
- DPS
- can your dps down the mobs before healer goes oom
- are the dps idiots, for example pulling mobs,
- are they over geared? in heriocs an overgeared mage (3k dps) is worse than a mage pulling 1500 dps. basicaly if their burst damage is to good for a new tank, they rip agro causing more raid damage, makoing harder on healers. I used mage becuase they're squishy but any dps can fall under this category.

If you arent at 23k health and you have enough agil (crit/ap) you cant be OK. But you also might want to throw on some cheap enchants (
boreans
for example) You may replace everything soon but spending a little gold can help you get through things faster and invited to more groups.

I like how he's debaiting guidlines by 4%,
My 2 cents,
If your guild running something 23K is doable, but it will be tough with a pug i would not do this because you can't rely on a good healer.
I would still would use 25k for pugs that way you don't need a top notch healer to not wipe.
please understand as all things these are guid lines, I've seen an arms warrior tank the final boss in nexus dps gear and get the boss down to 5%. how was he able to get so close? he had a 2k sp druid healing, he understood his cooldowns (mainspec was tank). This again showing its completly duable but tanks should not be carrieried by healer.

My little druid hit 80 less than a week ago, I jumped straight into heroics as a tank with good healers. Okay so I was pretty much a mana sponge, but we didn't wipe, my threat generation was perfectly fine for well geared DPSers (aside from the odd early miss I guess). If you ask me, knowing how to tank and manage your survivability cooldowns is more important than the difference between 23 and 25k health.

23k odd. Around the 30% dodge mark, probably 20k armour (I'm mostly guessing, I've had a considerable number of upgrades since and didn't really take note). I'm very used to tanking, however so knowledge of how and when to use defensive cooldowns and keeping threat probably gave me a leg up on most new 80 tanks.
