dkp is a system that allow points on based on event.
Killing a boss = x amount of DKP
some guild give DKP to ppl that made donation to the guild, dkp to ppl that are ready at the pull time etc...
when a loot drop, the guy with the most DKP will have it.
simple like that. but our guild doesn't use this system. We mostly use rolling/loot concil system.
we roll on everything, but we doesn't give gear to ppl that don't realy need it or doesn't deserve it. Also, if a thing drop for a long time raider and he done that particular boss tons of time and he was never able to win the roll, we will give it to him. Also, we will not give stuff needed by core member to a newbies. it need 1 or 2 raid to see if the guy will do the work to start giving stuff needed by other member. If nobody need mainspec, he will have some loot.
It work well for us and we have minimal loot drama. the loot drama that still occur is mostly:
"I'm so a good player that i need everything before everyone else"
for everything else, we explain every decision to the raid and we are always surprise to see how well people is reacting.

That mace may not have been amazing for a restoration druid, but it may have had a really nice offhand. Suck it up, eventually you'll get the gear that you deserve.
I also dislike how shamans have a more limited choice in weapons then druids or priests, but the next time a priest gets one-shot from raid aggro and I am only reduced to half health since I wear a shield... well things get put into perspective.
He's using
Ward of the Violet Citadel
currently..
And to Dark, you're right about the origin of DKP, but since the guild I'm in doesn't use it, there's no reason why I wouldn't have given a chance..

You'd be booted from my raid and guild in an instant for this attitude, particularly after QQing so hard that you refused to raid.
We aren't 8 years old anymore. Temper tantrums aren't quite justified nowadays. If you're going to get your panties in a twist every single time that a piece of loot you really wanted goes to someone else, you're never going to find a guild that suits your needs.

Correct me if i am wrong here but i think
DKP stands for Dragon KIll Point
and the name originated from Vanila WoW where Dragons used to be the raid bosses (onyxia, the one in twilight grove etc)
Close, but it was
EQ
. Created by the same Thott that started thottbot.

It always sucks to lose loot but you shouldn't punish your guild for it. Did every person in the guild screw you over or just a handful?
The guild leader represents the guild, and he was ML..

I think this guys being fair about it, i mean if i was a dk and got a 1h sword over a paladin or a warrior perhaps (Tankers sword) then those involved would have been pretty narked aswell, because yes i have a use for a 1h tanking sword but i'd be a damn sight better with a 2h weapon....this guys arguements essentially the same.I Doubt i'd kick him for voicing an opinion and i wouldn't have gone so far to kick a member for not raiding.
