So
Guiding Star
dropped on todays ulduar 25man run, and of course they'll ask who needs it... No? Well, since it's a pally/shammy mace, will it go to one of those? No?
Instead it goes to a freaking resto druid while I'm stuck with
Plasma Foil
which is crap for shammies.
Declined all the invites for the rest of the week, told an officer to invite me to a raid when we can do hodir hardmode or we're killing razorscale again. And just watch, I'm 100% sure
The Lifebinder
will drop and he'll just move onto that..
Now I promised something to myself, if The Lifebinder drops and they don't gm me the mace(I'm the only resto shammy), I'm leaving this guild for a better one.
anyone think this rant is justified?

Shutup. No. It isn't justified. Druids have use for the mace as well.
You obviously already have decent gear and if you continue to raid then another will drop and I'm sure you will get it eventually. On my mage I lost the Fusion Blade to someone who already had the Turning Tide while I had Life And Death. No biggy. I continued to raid and didn't whine and it dropped again and guess who it flowed to?
Have a little patience and remember that raiding isn't all about you. Other people are behind their computers laboring just as hard to get that same gear your going crazy over.
True, but that is THE best mace I can get for a long time, the guild I'm in will probably never be able to do hodir hardmode, let alone yoggy, while druids get a better staff on an easy mode boss.

It's a piece of loot that will be replaced in a month when new content comes around. Ask yourself if it's worth all the grief. Believe me I know what it feels like to loose a piece you really would have liked but I'm in a place now where it's more about participation than the outcome. Loot is a bonus ... not like vanilla where loot was a celebration and a showpiece.

It wasn't rolled or dkp'd was just given to him, and he was using some late(saph or kel I think) naxx25 weapon.

I feel your pain! I lost Guiding Star twice (once to a priest and once to a druid), both of them had the Torch of Holy Fire (
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=40395
). I still had the Warmace of Unrequited Love (
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=37169
) at the time.
/ouch
Now that would hurt ... even for me.

In my experience it's the people who gear "whatever" that screw over other people by taking minor upgrades. Because they have no plan or even concept of what they'd like to finally be wearing they tend to roll/dkp willy nilly on anything that's a slight upgrade.

It is hard to say if the ML was right giving the mace to a resto drood. On one hand resto druids have more options (staves), on the other your dagger kinda sucks for healing. If he was running with quest blue it would help the progressing group a lot. Come to think of it... he wouldn't raid ulduar with a quest blue... It sucks to loose gear, but hey, at least you didn't lose resto bracers from Ignis 25 to al "ele shaman" who was doing 1.8k dps... Happened to me when I was healing. Or Drape of the Spellweaver to a holy priest... The thing is you should talk to the leaders about loot policy to avoid such situations in the future.
He was running late naxx25, forgot what the weapon was called.

In our guild, we prefer to give non spirit weapon/gear to non spirit user first. but we are not perfect and we can do mistake, but:
Declined all the invites for the rest of the week, told an officer to invite me to a raid when we can do hodir hardmode or we're killing razorscale again. And just watch, I'm 100% sure The Lifebinder will drop and he'll just move onto that..
if you had done this, i would have kick you out of the guild. We do not tolerate loot dram
a. if you dont think they are fair and wise on loot distribution, quit this guild.
A resto shammy with your level of gear will have realy no problem to find another guild. You will probably have the choice so you will be able to ask how loot distribution work.
Even if i am an officer in my guild, i had lost some gear to other ppl and that &*!@ me off. I remember Naxx 25 run with all those DK and warrior crying to get the first Betrayer of Humanity. It made a lot of loot drama. Some ppl have leave the guild because of that. 2-3 month later, we started to shard it since everyone had one even fury warrior and Offspec holy/prot pally. it dropped every $#@$ week and we were like "i hope we will not get another $#@%! BoH."
if you like your guild, just raid and it will drop another time. anyway the new raid will be release realy soon and it will have some greater weapon.

I can't see the fault of the raid giving the weapon to the healer that shows up. Doesn't make entirely much sense to give it to the guy who's not going to raid with it.
Maybe it is time for you to move on, it sounds like you need a guild with dKP. The whole thing with sitting out unless the fight has loot you need attitude really makes it sound like the mace is where it should be, even if it's not ideal on a resto druid, at least it is benefiting the raid.

I wouldn't have bothered if they would had let me roll on the mace and he won it, but them just giving it to him is what ticks me off.

That mace may not have been amazing for a restoration druid, but it may have had a really nice offhand. Suck it up, eventually you'll get the gear that you deserve.
I also dislike how shamans have a more limited choice in weapons then druids or priests, but the next time a priest gets one-shot from raid aggro and I am only reduced to half health since I wear a shield... well things get put into perspective.

If you are in a guild that has loot rules you dont agree with, either suck it up and get the drop next time or ditch the guild and find something you like.
Millions of players, hundreds of guilds. No sense sticking to a guild you dont like.
