hmm maybe its because dk's only have avoidance and armour, where as pallys and warriors have block avoidance and armour, so if an attack isnt avoided it will most likely be blocked taking a portion of the hit.
although im not so sure how effectively block reduces damage now with the new changes.

Block is exactly the same now as it was last patch, it's just that items that specifically give block value give more. Unless someone goes out and re-gears they might've gained like 100-300 block value due to the last patch. It is very minor.

I need help. I'm a holy pally with 24k mana and 2100+ SP and I can't keep DK's up for the life of me.
Can anyone give some tips? I feel lost..... I should be able to easily do it, but for some reason I fail.
DKs are the worst tanks (someone has to be the worst), and if they don't spec Blood (extra healing) then they need to respec. Sadly due to the nerfs, you need to spec Blood to make up for the nerfs.

Maybe. But consider the lower end level of gears.
The same armor, though no shield, so no block.

Maybe Ulduar geared DKs are / were imba, but atm they're just nerfed too much.
They had two armor nerfs, a strong health nerf too in 3.2, i dont know what else.
Though i must say, me as tank offspec (naxx10/heroic geared) i'm much easier to heal and take less damage compared to a guildmate with very similar gear level on dk.
Also, i have my own blessing to boost my hp pool.

In Heroic UP, I couldn't figure out what was making a tank take damage so much more often. He was just taking up so much attention all through the run. At the end of the run, I decided to take a look. He was tanking as Blood. I don't think I'd healed a Blood tank before. I've decided that Blood is just inferior at mitigation. With the nerfs to mitigation in 3.2, I'd say Blood is not a viable tanking tree from the perspective of the healer.

As blood compared to frost you trade 3% to be missed, and 2% damage taken, for will of the necropolis and vampiric blood (wich are both "oh crap" talents) probably used for raiding.
But i doubt you can tell the difference in heroic UP.

Can we have an armory link?
I have healed Pallys, druids, warriors and dks all fine in heroics and raids. As long as they know what they are doing they shouldn't take much damage. Since the abundance of DK tanks I had to heal DKs more than any other class and I have less mana then you and spell power.
The key is to not ONLY use FoL but HL(with
glyph
as well). Keep
SS
up on tank even pop a
BoL
if you deem necessary and start casting before dmg hits. All I can say, also remember to judge with light to proc

, casting HL becomes even faster and you have extra HPS going out by way of

I have the same amount of SP as you little less mana and I have yet to find a DK I can't keep up, for me they are doeing fine in HC's 25man Pre ulduar content and 10man ulduar. I think the DK's your healing are running some weird build/not using deathstrike (yes this heals pritty effectively over a 10min fight) also the right use of cooldowns is more critical for a DK then a paladin since your not using a shield, now with the reduced stamina its not getting any easyier.
You can't really say something about keeping DK's up without a amory link though.

Yes I could.
Maybe it was his gear, but with everyone running around in T8.5 Helms/Chests, no one can really blame their gear or a lack of upgrades. Maybe it was his spec; I don't have a clue what talents make or break a DK tank. Maybe I was having an off night. I don't remember anything more than "Holy crap, you're taking more damage than I expected."
