is it apparent to anyone else but me that there is quite a bit of exaggeration here? In so far as Mut, CQC builds, and HAT goes, they are close now. HAT is falling behind because, as stated before, it doesn't scale as well as other builds. Whoever said that eviscerate doesn't scale with weapons.... neither do a lot of finishers. MANY of our moves scale with AP, and not necessarily our weapons. Even in a HAT build, much of our damage will be coming from white and poisons, and only white is going to scale with your weapon dmg. Other than that, there ARE builds you CAN use that are not the cookie cutters.
WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT TO TAKE THE COOKIE CUTTER YOU !@#$IE NOOB!
Ok, there is an answer to that question. Even if you AREN'T new to the game, a way to play may have a lot to do with flavor, role playing, or just for sheer experimentation. So long as your guild/raid knows this ahead of time and is ok with it, then you should feel free to explore your options. Have fun with it in fact, go wild.
You should also realize that your DPS may suffer if you go a non-traditional/non-cookie cutter route. This is ok so long as you explain this to your group/guild. It would be even more accepted if you just took duel spec and used one as your primary dps, and the other as a flavor spec. You should also be aware that there are specs that are NOT cookie cutter, can be fun, and still can keep up within a few hundred DPS of the cookie cutters. If you are brave enough, go ahead and take em, try it out, it could be fun.

well, I think I was trying to make the same point. So thanks for clarifying even if done with a bit of unnecessary derision and sarcasm, but primarily, I think my point was that you should take whatever spec you are happy with, and you should play in whatever way makes you enjoy the game the most. I might not want to raid with you and it's nothing personal in point of fact, but there are plenty of guilds and people that will.

Thank you KidB for posting the stats to back up what I said. And just to highlight my point, the DPS that HaT shows is with the perfect group where as the Muti specs that (in a few cases out preform) are with just gear and rotation.
