Awesome, thanks a lot!
I was just yesterday thinking about making a topic to ask exactly this. Perfect timing ;)

FYI, you indicated Bloodlust was 40%, yet the tooltip clearly states 30%.
The logic behind your examples doesn't change much, but for the sake of accuracy...
Also, I'm confused slightly by your final table. I am to understand that I need approximately 10% haste from gear, or 359 haste rating, to result in a 1.0 GCD. Yet according to armory, I have only 309 haste rating, resulting in a 12.25% haste. Someone's conversion of percent haste to rating is off somewhere.

I considered it likely the armory is using an incorrect or outdated conversion. I will be checking in game when I can.
Curiously, according to armory my warlock has 408 haste rating yet also has 12.44% haste.
In game the haste rating displays only 9.42%, so that appears to be accurate. Not sure where Armory is getting the extra haste from, as the only talents I have that affect haste are GotE and Nature's Grace, and only one of those is permanent in any form. Neither should be displayed by the character sheet since they aren't global modifiers.

Fixed the 40% and made it 30% for Heroism/Bloodlust.
As well, all of my sources show 1% haste equal to 32.79. This includes EJ, WoWWiki and Wowhead. Not quite sure why the Armoury shows it as 25.22 though, maybe it's factoring in a talent?
Spell Haste and Melee Haste are different.
I have 13.17% Spell haste and 17.13% Melee haste

True enough but that is not the case here. When I view my armory, the dropdown menu is clearly set for Spell and reports 12% haste with only 309 rating.
I am not even sure where you see your melee haste rating in your character sheet. There's no 'Haste' field in the Melee window like there is for the Spell window selection.
I imagine it is simply a result of the armory using an incorrect formula, since it is by no means guaranteed to be as up to date as the game itself.

Check under speed in the melee drop down.
*In game* Speed = 1.52 (461 Haste )
Haste Rating = 461 (14.06%)

This still does not answer why under the "Spell" tab, you would see a melee haste rating. When I was mentioning 32.79 haste rating, I was refering strictly to spell haste since this is not a talent for melee.
Armoury is stupid, that's why
