Err, well having haste isn't a negative thing or anything (IE if there's a brilliant piece of gear that happens to have a bit of haste on, don't shy away from it), but you should never be aiming to get haste; it's generally avoided because the bonuses it brings simply aren't very good compared to other stats.

The only things haste does for Arms is increase melee white damage (hits more often for the same amount) and consequently also increases rage generation. Rage is usually not an issue for Arms, though.
If you go with an Incite build (like 55/8/8), you may see a little more gain from haste, as it will allow a little more rage generation for more Heroic Strikes.
The main thing to remember, is haste is not bad. It will increase your dps, however if you have to choose between X haste and X strength/crit/arpen, the other stats will give you more benefit.

Thought I'd just bold this because many people seem to think that it doesn't.
For physical DPS haste is just 'icing on the cake', it's not something worthwhile to stack (unless you're a hunter needing it for optimal rotation, I don't know since I never played a hunter but that's what I see a lot).
Casters often gem it, melee don't.

I think rogues still like haste, since almost 50% of their damage is white damage, and they also have some benefits from
Combat Potency
. Now I don't know rogues well enough to know if they Gem haste or if they still prefer Crit, but Rogues I think get the most benefit from haste of all the melee classes.
I won't say to necessarily avoid haste as a warrior, but it certainly isn't our first choice.

Honestly I don't know why Haste works so differently for casters & melee, if it would lower the melee GCD like it does the spell GCD, it would be more consistent and be a much more attractive stat for most melee classes. It would require serious rebalancing, though, otherwises Arms (or any GCD-constrained) spec would end up having Haste be their best stat until you hit the GCD-cap.

Probably because caster do have a trade-off with haste (theoretically, it doesn't matter that much nowadays) as more haste means more mana consumption, whereas there would be only positive effects for warriors.

That would be easy to fix by giving haste a worse conversion rate for physical attacks than for spells. That's the way hit rating currently works.
