So, I don't like these hero classes. It seems when you hit 80 in wotlk you can do a quest to get a new class that starts at 40, right? And this class, the death knight, is as strong as any other class at the same level. So my question is, whats the point? If it isn't any stronger why get it? Just curiosity? It would be so much more worthwhile if the hero classes would be a new innovative way to play wow, I mean I hear about this rune system, but still... My idea, why not make heroes stronger, but unable to revive after deaths? A little like hardcore mode in diablo2. Think that's cool? Whether you do or don't, put your own idea.

There isnt even a wotlk alpha test out. Why are you talking about something with features you don't know about?
And where's that level 40 from? The only thing Blizzard said is "between 58 and 70".

Having one class that dominates everyone else goes against this balance. Besides, we already have warlocks.
I'm leveling a warlock right now :]
Why do people play alts? To change the game up some. They are supposed to try and balance out each class to make the game enjoyable for everyone.
Yeah thats obvious. I play a few different classes, mostly because I got bored of a certain play style. And starting a new character like a caster after playing a warrior makes the game fun again, I get it. But why not make the "Hero" class something different? Why make it just a hard to get class (I mean other than blizzard getting money from players leveling to 80 just to get a new character to level up and epic out).
I hope you don't plan to do any instances with anyone, alot of the time a death in a dungeon is out of your control. The only way you can gaurantee you won't die is to only solo and play on a PvE server.
Yeah that is an issue, but hey, nothing in wow or rl is perfect :] Maybe give each major city an Alter of Heroes where you bring your normal character to revive your hero character with a large tribute of gold? Give me your ideas, don't just demean mine.

Because it's something to talk about, its an exciting new feature coming to wow, and if done the way I hope it is, will probably keep me playing wow. I heard the lvl 40 thing on a forum and in game chat *shrugs*.

I'm planning on levelling a Death Knight as a tank just to see how their mechanics work out. I love tanking, and most of all I'm looking forward to the Paladin tanking improvements we'll (supposedly) be seeing in WotLK, but the other classes have different tanking mechanics which makes them interesting to compare. I used to play a 60 protection warrior before BC (she's still 60, sadly enough), and now I'm looking forward to seeing another class's tanking style.
Plus, on my server at least, there's a disgusting tank shortage. We have no problem with DPS, or even healers -- it's tanks that are always impossible to find. I'm really hoping with the influx of Death Knight players, at least some of them will learn how to tank properly and balance it out a bit.
