Healbot and Grid/Clique basically do the same thing. I've tried them both, it really is just a personal preference.

If I had a non-standard mouse, I might use clique with my grid. But unless I give up clicking to target, and having my vent bind on my mouse, I'll only get one button for healing without using the keyboard in conjunction, making click-healing mods kind of worthless for me.
I just use grid and target>cast>target>cast. I've never had problems being able to snipe people using healbot or clique ;)
It's all personal preference, yeah. I only wish I could figure out how to keep settings different for my paladin and my druid D:

I use Healbot, and I love it...I know some people like target -> click more, but healbot
sets everything up for you
to begin with, and you can change it if you want to. Overall, I love healbot, and it is
very very good for a beginning healer.
I would rather mods be used as tools of the skilled, rather than crutches for the mentally handicapped.

Thank you, but I am not mentally handicapped. What I meant by set things up for you, is the fact that after it loads, you already have some pre-set options, so you can see how it works, and change it as you see fit. Also, When I first started healing, I did need some help to learn how to do it properly, and Healbot helped that. So, no, I'm not using it as a crutch because I am stupid, I use it as a tool so I can heal my best.
I've just had a number of people who, when healbot doesn't tell them something, they don't do it, or can't. Healbot in itself doesn't make one bad, but it does enable bad people.
It's like when you go to the store and they can't sell you anything because the computers are down and no one knows how to do sales on paper anymore.
Edit: I used the term crutch because if someone relies too heavily on it, and it's taken away, that person will fall hard. But then you could also just be using a crutch because you want to do a 3 legged race on your own.

The one big advantage Healbot has (I believe) is the fact that you can safely bind two spells to your left and right mouse buttons. If you try to do that in Clique, and then use it in Grid, it'll be fine too... just that every time you right click on a player's unit frame to invite/promote/whisper/etc, you'll be casting the bound spell instead of opening right mouse button menu.

The whole point of clique is to prevent that problem.
If I wanted it to cast no matter what I could do that without a mod.
/cast Flash of Light
Bind to LMB.
Grats me, I just ruined my UI.

Xperl is trash.

Quoted to fail? Hrrrrm?
Xperl is personally amazing, I don't like the hand holding a lot of addons do, Xperl shows me everything I wanna know and let's me do it how I WANT to do it. Not what the addon wants me to do. I'd rather see someone has aggro so I should start healing or wait for the tank to regain aggro, or see the debuffs, than to have something go "OH EM GEE U NED 2 DISPEL"

You can disable frame types in clique options im pretty sure.
And set it only to work on grid frames.

I personally prefer Healbot for my Disco Priest, though I haven't extensively tried out Grid+Clique. Healbot does make it pretty easy to get set up -- just bind the clicks and you're good to go.
I do find that Healbot seems to have just a little inherent lag to it -- I make sure to keep the tank targeted so I can see their health in WoW's realtime, because Healbot seems to be just a hair of a second behind. Probably just my computer, but either way, it's a hump I have to get over while using it.
My main love for it: it lets me leave my action bar's 1-6, Q, E, and R and Shift+1-6, Q, E, and R as attack / utility spells, and all of my regular heals and dispels bound to Healbot. Basically, I look at it as getting about 12 more buttons (left, middle, and right, plus shift / ctrl / alt modifiers) that are extremely easy to press at anytime on any target, allowing me that much faster reaction time -- instead of having to click a target, and then a spell, or vice versa.
