All the gear is updated but in-game i have close to 1k more hp...around 25300-25400.Fully raid buffed with commanding shout up, I'm well over 32k. I know that my defense is a little high, but a couple of the items I have my sights on have lower defense rating than the things I have on, so I just going to leave my defense gems alone for now.
Secondly, I've tanked most the bosses in Naxx-10, I know I can do it. Besides having healed through 25-KT.
Now, last week my GM was having connection issues so we never got our 10 man off the ground, so the next day I PuGed one. Right off the bat after zoning in the raid-leader (hunter) started complaining about my gear. But as tanks are hard to find he didn't kick me right away.
So we get to Maexxna. The other tank is chosen to MT the boss. The tank healer hits some lag close to the beginning and the MT dies, so I taunt the boss and start tanking. Now I never once lost aggro on the boss, nor did any of the unit frames go yellow or red to indicate me losing threat, however I don't have omen so I can know the particulars of the raid's threat. The boss proceeded to enrage and I survived through the first and second wraps, but not through the third (yes our dps sucked).
After we wipe, the raid leader gets all in my face about how I can hold aggro. I told him that I never lost the boss once, and he replied that it was only because he ( the hunter) stopped dping at points so he wouldnt pull. I told him that I didn't see a single misdirect that entire fight, and that he could only complain about threat after he started using his MD.
That got me kicked....
So I ask, was that a bad request to make?
or am I just a bad tank for not holding aggro well enough (regardless of the fact that I didn't loose aggro)?

Sounds like the hunter had no idea what he was talking about (and I hate to stereotype, but thats not a surprise :P )

Haha. Too funny. Typical zealot. Call them on their %^&* and they take their ball and go home.
I had totally the opposite experience the other day. I leveled my Warrior to 60, the point that I decided I would start learning to tank. I got in a PUG for Ramparts and explained to them that this would be my very first 5 man group, but I needed to learn, and was open for criticism.
They were very supportive, offering good advice. No wipes, which I think was good considering we only had a 57 Druid as healer. Hope I get some more PUGs like that.

They were probably just being retards, but you should get omen anyway.

I gotta tell you as a Fury Warrior (no aggro dump), I find it aggravating when the tanks can't generate sufficient threat on bosses, even trash. When your dps'ers have to hold back, its pretty fail for everyone.
That being said though, hunters should have ZERO issues with aggro. Unless you were just auto attacking to hold aggro, he should be able to do whatever he wants and never pull. Just in case though, you should definitely pickup omen to see where you're at. If I see someone starting to creep up on a boss fight, I generally slap Vigilance on them.

obviously you know that they made a bad decision and you were in the right, are you just looking for people to agree with you? What is "right" is often defined by the community and is not always a personal sense of right or wrong. I think he had every right to ask the question.sometimes after someone feels they have been wronged they feel emotionally staggered and to recover they feel the need to tell everyone about the experience, knowing that everyone will agree "yes, you did the right thing." a pat on the back kind of thing
not once did I say he had no right to ask

This isn't accurate, exactly. You speak like someone who only pugs. Yes, you can tell if you have aggro through the unit frames but Omen tells you soooo much more than that.
First of all it shows the threshold at which someone will pull off of you in a red bar above YOUR threat, because 100% threat is not the threshold at which a target will change aggro. Second it shows your TPS, how far ahead your threat is from the nearest DPSer, and it helps at the beginning of a fight or after an aggro dump; allowing your DPS to wait for you to have enough threat that a few quick crits won't pull.
It lets you see who is doing the most threat, meaning where to throw Vigilance, and who is being a nub and not dumping. Frankly, the unit frames threat percentage is fine for 5 mans, but Omen is huge when it comes to real raiding. Real raiding being say... XT where there (was...not anymore) a rather intense enrage timer, or lolThaddius. Omen will make all your runs smoother.
Download it. Use it. Love it. Be a better tank.

I had problems like this in a 25 man vault group. A hunter pulling a great amount of dps kept telling me im not holding agro well enough, i did have omens up, and the only person close to me on the list was the OT, who was still a good 200 threat away.
"I had to stop my rotations for you cause omens said I was starting to pull agro off"
if somthing like this is said, tell them this.
1) "Then hit me with a misdirect and continue dumping arrows/bullets."
2) "Then pull, im a warrior, i hit taunt, hes right back on me and you can continue. And if your really scared, Misdirect me.
3) (the "uncomfortable" tank answer) "STFU and let me do my job, you just sit there mashing the shoot button."
Number 3 is to be used only, if the problem consists after 2 or more wipes. Then you have full right to go off on people lol

Thanks all for the replies...but I still don't really see the point of omen for me as the tank. I'm already dishing out my maximum tps at any given moment, having omen up wont help in that regard. I'm always hovering over my taunt button, and I also have target of target unit frame enabled, so besides the big red letters that pop up i can see who I'm loosing threat to. At that point omen is going to help him more than it's going to help me. All I'd be able to do is yell at him to slow down, which is exactly what omen would do.
Am I missing something that omen does?
