My recommendation is to not use healing addons at all. But if you are going to use them, then wait until you are 80 and raiding. Take this time as you level to train yourself to know what spell to use at any given moment. I don't use any healing addons and i never have in the 5 years of healing on my druid even while healing 40man raids in vanilla wow. I am always #1 or 2 in healing done and HPS for any raid I attend.

If only we could treat healing meters the same as damage and DPS meters.
Your right. The only thing that really matters when it comes to healing is, did we heal enough to allow the rest raid to kill the boss? My only reason for saying that was to show that with proper skill a healer can heal just as well or better without addons compared to healers who use addons.

I used to prefer Healbot before but now, I simply cant imagine healing without
VuhDo.
It has everything that other healing addons have and can be customized in so many ways according to your playstyle.

Not quite. It is true that topping the healing meter isn't everything and that it can't be treated just like the dps meter.
From that people tend to fall to the other extreme, saying that the healing meter doesn't matter at all - which is just as wrong.
The healing meter is important. Who is no1 and who is no2 isn't really but if your healing done is half that of another healer then you are clearly doing something wrong. It's also very useful to analyze the spell composition to see which spells do how much.
Btw it is imppossible to heal as well without addons as it is with addons. The default raid frames just don't give enough information. Yes, a very skilled healer can heal better without addons then a total noob with addons - but a skilled healer with addons will always be better off then a skilled healer without. There is just no reason to not use healing addons, they make healing way faster, more efficient and generally better.

That doesn't mean that professional runners would be better off barefoot.
Your logic is poor and your implied conclusion is incorrect.

Being a quadriplegic means you don't have use of the limbs.
Being a quad amputee means you don't have them.
That topic, as well as the argument about to use a healing add-on or not, and which is better, always goes back to the idiom of beating a dead horse.
Use whatever tools give you an easier quality of life. If healing add-ons do that, go for it. If default frames or mouse-over macros work better, use those.

Just to clearify: Mouseover macros are usually used in combination with healing addons.
A healing addon is basically mandatory for any kind of serious raiding.
Using click based healing or mouseover macros in combination with your healing addon then is purely a matter of personal preference. Both are equally efficient if you get used to them, just go with whatever you like better.
For a class that uses few healing spells (Paladins, Shamans) I personally think click healing is very nice and relaxing, for a class that uses many healing spells (Priests, Druids) I prefer mouseover macros so that I don't have to bind 5 spells to every mouse button.
