Hmm, have you count how many of those HS crits were happenining when you had already full rage bar? Or full Rage bar in less than GCD time from HSing?
Revenge is better in terms of this because it rises your theorethical rage pool to 109. The rage from the glyph will never get wasted.
Can't really tell if HS Crits were happeneing when I had a full rage bar, but it doesn't really matter. I cast heroic strike, I burn 9 rage, it crits, I gain 10 rage. If I was at 100 rage I just wasted 1 rage. Whoopie.
Well its not exactly this way. You use 9 rage up to 1.6s* before the actual hit (depends on the weapon speed). You get the rage in the moment of hit (i am sure you know it). Lots can change within 1.6s.
It would be more advisable to say you gain "up to" 10 rage on HS crit. And ofc you waste Major glyph slot regardless of rage level.
* - unless you latency is 0 and you got secret addon to use hs just a milisecond before actual swing. Than i am sorry for the critique.

What? You need the 9 rage available in order to queue a HS, but it doesn't actually use that rage until the HS goes off.

You are right. I guess my fps lag and latency issues gave me false impression. Oh well. End of discussion than.
Maybe i am going to switch this sunder for something cooler anyway.

MT, mostly for heroics (emphasis on versatility - mob aggro control AND boss tanking):
slot #2 = glyph of Cleave
slot #3 = glyph of Revenge
uses Deep Wounds tank spec (15/5/51 or 15/3/53)
I'd agree with that.
MT, mostly for 10/25-man's (focus on boss tanking)
slot #2 = glyph of Devastate
slot #3 = glyph of Heroic Strike (or is glyph of Revenge better here?)
uses Deep Wounds tank spec (15/5/51 or 15/3/53)
I'd agree with this too. I think when you are looking at a focus of boss tanking, you'll gain more rage from Glyph of Heroic Strike than you will from Glyph of Revenge.
OT, mostly for 10/25-man's (focus on raid survival and add aggro control)
slot #2 = glyph of Shield Wall
slot #3 = glyph of Shockwave (or is glyph of Last Stand or other better here?)
uses an
Improved Demo
and
Improved Disciplines
tank spec (such as 5/10/56)
In the effort to maximize your survivability and available CD rotation, I would say Glyph of Shield Wall and Glyph of Last Stand with the Imp Demo and Imp Disc build. This is exactly what I was running while I was dual spec Prot, until my RL asked me to pick up an Arms offspec instead.

these would be your threat glyphs.
hard to say which is better for slot #3, but both are probably fine choices. i used revenge myself because the rage returned was more predictable, and i could simply macro HS to my revenge button.

these would be your survival glyphs - no aggro control here. for threat, see above.
glyph of shockwave, never. i can't think of a PVE situation i'd use it for. glyph of last stand is better for serious progression stuff.

If you main tank in Ulduar, do your guild a favor and glyph blocking, shield wall and last stand.
I can't understand how tanks (in ulduar) can justify glyphing for threat with the threat mechanic the way it currently is (anyone remember BC?). Glyphing for threat just seems like pure luxury to me. In Uld, you should be able to easily create enough threat to stay ahead of the dps (hard mode Hodir is about the only exception).
A 2 minute cooldown shield wall means you can use the ability 3-4 times per fight instead of a maximum of twice (probably once). This is huge. A 2min cd last stand is less profound but still very beneficial. These glyphs vastly increase your ability to survive spike damage (the only thing that can kill you).
You don't need the threat!
Do you have a lot of experience with Ulduar? Honestly, the only fights that would really benefit from this would be Vezax. Combined with some outside cooldowns you could survive the Surge of Darkness without kiting. I would love to have fast cooldowns for hard mode Iron Council, but 2 minutes is still too slow. Even if I'm the first phase 3 tank and burn shield wall immediately, I'll still be 30 seconds off from it being back up if I get rezzed and am the fourth tank. The same problem occurs with Mimiron. It would be nice to chain cooldowns on phase 1, but 2 minutes still isn't fast enough to get them all yourself. None of the other fights demand excessive use of our cooldowns.
However, EVERY fight in Ulduar has 17 people trying to rip agro away from you while pumping out 6000-7000 DPS (on non gimmick fights). Threat certainly IS a concern.
