Basically the core of your build should look like this :
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#sZVZVfrx0IuhdIbsu
From that on, you can put some points in Persuit of Justice of Swift Retribution but this is optional. Also, try to put the 2 points in Vindication later (imo its just a filler, doesn't help much in PvE).
You can heal yourself steadily once you've reached Judgement of the Wise and Sheath of Light as these are your main sources of mana and healing, combined with Art of War.
If you really like healing yourself :) put all the remaining points in the Holy tree (Spiritual Focus->Divine Intelect ->Illumination) - these will ensure you have more mana and mana regen, but you sholdn't need that much healing if you have decent healer in the group and having in mind the AoW procs and Divine Storm/Judgement of Light.
As for the glyphs, take Exorcism (I love those 4-5k crits :D), the other two could be Of Judgement and Crusader Strike, but its up to you.
Once you get to Seal of Blood/Martyr, use it - it deals a lot more dmg than Command (until 3.2 is released, that is ).

That is the spec Id use at your level for dps, for gear, focus on strength and get a SLOW 2 handed weapon. If you want to heal, just switch to gear with intellect, dont worry if its not plate, that way you dont need to switch your spec all the time.
Not if the OP is questing. At that level, gear doesn't really matter, as long as it's level appropriate.
Amy - choose what you want to do - healing or dps. You can't really be both at the same time. Healing isn't really an option if you're not partying with other people very often, and even if you do, it's only feasible if you're healing someone who's a Warrior or Paladin (or maybe bear druid), because most other people will expect you to take the hits, since you can wear plate armour.
If you want to dps, then just keep doing what you're doing. You've made it to L51, it's easier now that you've got Crusader Strike, it'll be easier still once you hit level 60 and get Divine Storm.

Posting an armory profile that shows your current spec would help a lot.
And as someone said, you need to decide if you want to DPS or Heal. You can heal as Ret, but not mana efficiently, or in a group setting.

Because I thought I would get someone to help me faster :)
Generally, that only works if you post $%^&.
Not sexist, just true.

It's sexist that she mentioned she was a girl in the first place, on the assumption all of us men are pigs.
GTFO imo.

Admittedly, I do treat girl players differently to guy players. Mostly because I fully appreciate the fact that the guys will be out there to min/max, and the girls will take Herbalism to go pick flowers, and tailoring to make pretty clothes, and will chase after useless achievements and silly pets and generally have their priorities elsewhere.
I mean, "I like to heal myself and others. I think I want to be a dps" virtually screams female in the first place. In that case, it's about education, and you need to remind the person saying as much that they can either a) be ruthless and min/max, or b) continue along their own pretty little way, doing random Flashes of Light on injured bystanders.

I like to pick flowers too...
More serious note, for the most part the only females I've met on WoW are serious raiders, one of which is my wife. It's just like the classic "ALLIANCE IS GAY" or vice versa argument... both sides have their idiots, it's not at all limited to just one faction. Likewise, both girls and boys have that "noobish" phase where they like to do achievements and never level and actually, you know... have "fun" with the game they bought.
Unlike you though, Squish, I'm not at all discriminative when it comes to trolling. So please, Amy... GTFO imo.

Yeah, my older brother is one of those in the 'noobish' phase. 10 'serious' alts, with 2 characters over 50, none over 62.
But going back to Amy's original question, even a non-'noob' (in the way we've described it) will still face that problem, if they're new to the game. You just need to look at the PvE forum to see the amount of hatred aimed at people who really just didn't know better (and below 80, is that really fair?).
But I do agree with you on Amy in particular.

Hmm 13 posts in 7.5 hours. I think she succeeded very well with her attempt at getting attention by mentioning she's a girl.

I'll shamelessly admit that I paid 11g to go to the Barber's in Dalaran over the weekend to get the 10 achievement points ^^;;

*cough* a response 5 minutes after you posted something wasn't fast enough for you? Not sure of Synectics made it clear enough, but...
