I watched Chronicle this weekend and i have to say it wasn't that bad all things considered. I'd probably rate it a 8 out of 10.
It's a "found footage" type of film like paranormal activity except that it's about 3 dudes that find some glowy thing that gives them telekinesis. The film doesn't revolve around boring security camera footage that attempts to make you jump when a invisible demon gets hit by dust. It feels like your actually watching 3 dudes learning to use their super powers and then towards the end of the movie it turns into Carrie. Pretty cool movie, i was impressed that the special effects didn't look fake and also that the storyline, acting, and even how they filmed it was alot better then past movies in the genre.
unfortunately, there aren't very many movies to compare too....blair witch, cloverfield, paranormal activity? and then all those straight to dvd movies/shows >_> This one was definitely a improvement.

I think I will never fully recover from watching the Woman in Black. Probably the scariest film I've ever seen. :(
Now, to try and cure my ailing sanity, I'm listening to the soundtrack of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, after having listened to Smile, Smile, Smile for the last ten minutes. Then I need to watch the Walking Dead to remember that if $%^&ed-up-dead-lady ever comes after me, I can just BOOM! HEADSHOT! the !@#$%.

So, ghost rider 2 got terribad reviews apparently:
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/ghost_rider_spirit_of_vengeance/
I'm actually surprised, this looked like a legitimately good movie, and finally the first good movie nicholas cage has started in in years, but nope, yet another fail cage movie. I officially give up on nicholas, he'll never star in a good movie ever again.
Meh, when i saw the trailer Punisher: War Zone flashed through my head.

Okay, Gone With the Wind now ranks up there with Marilyn and Sex and the City 2 in my least favourite films.

1408 is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. The best thing was at the end the guy Burns the room down with a whiskey bottle It was just the kind of ownage you dont usualy see in horror movies. See
thats
how the Woman in Black should have ended. Harry Potter should have burned that house to the ground, then dug up her and her son and taken a leak on their bones.
Also it had Samuel L Jackson...

I really liked the film adaptation of 1408, even though it was nothing like the short story. To be fair, the short story was very vague about what was happening, and was counting on the unexplained disconnect from sanity being the creepy factor, so there wasn't a lot that they'd have been able to represent visibly if they'd stuck to it.
The other night I made my BF watch the new "True Grit" even though he normally hates westerns, because the original is one of my favorite old movies. He liked it a lot, as did I. They used a lot of the same lines as the original, and kept pretty true to the feel of it, even if a few things were different. He enjoyed the fact that it was just an unending battle of snarkiness between all the characters, and Rooster reminded him of Zaheed in ME2 because it was just a constant stream of war stories.

Westerns seem to be the exception to the "all remakes are terrible" rule. True Grit was great, I also liked 3:10 to Yuma quite a bit.

So, there's been another
Avengers
trailer. I still don't know who the ginger chick and archer guy are, and I'm still unconvinced by Captain America, Iron Man (didn't like their films) and the Hulk not being played by Edward Norton, but I know I'll end up seeing it anyway. :|

I don't like that they need a massive coalition to fight off a villain they'd already defeated.
How about something like Onslaught, Apocalypse or Galactus?

Galactus was in the second Fantastic Four movie.
And as they want to keep it at PG-13, I doubt you'll ever see Carnage on the big screen, unless it's part of the Marvel Animated series....since you know, Kletus Cassidy was a mass serial killer and Carnage was a thousand times worse: They'd have to bump it up to R if they had him in(hell look at what they did to Carnage in the animated series; he 'stole life force', which was the closest they could get to actual killing). I also hated how they did Venom in Spider-man 3: Too much Emo-Parker, then 20 minutes with it on Brock...and it still sucked.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. He was an appropriate target for four superheroes IMO.

His first defeat was also at the hand of the FF in the comics; one of the few times Reed Richards wasn't useless.

As for the trailers before hand: Meh to the Hobbit(sorry but just looks like more LotR to me)
As it turns out, The Hobbit is effectively a prequel to LotR. That it looks very similar is *good* as it means they were able to recreate the atmosphere. If you have never read the books (The Hobbit is a lot easier to read than LotR) then you'll find The Hobbit gives a lot of back story on Bilbo, Gollum and the Ring. You also get to meet the father of Gimli and see more action from Gandalf, Galadriel and Elrond.
Saw "Act of Valor" last night. Very well done, very moving and firefight-intense movie. The main characters are played by actual Navy SEALs who did the filming while on leave, and all ammunition was "live."

Dude you know not ever red head is a ginger right? Gingers are uber pale, with bright red hair, and freckles, Scarlette Johanson and the chick who plays Sansa Stark are not gingers Xp

I know you didnt like the Dark Knight, but most people think Ledgers portrayal of the Joker was pretty good, and that stayed PG13. Carnage isnt that much worse than the Joker tbh.
I 100% agree with you about Venom btw. Eddie Brock is supposed to be a body builder, and they use that skinny kid from the 70s show? And then when hes in the symbiot rather than giving him a computer generated voice like they did in the animated TV show, we get Topher Grace trying to sound like a cowboy...
As far as the Spiderman reboot goes, idk. Im staying optimistic, but I could do without Peter Parker having the kids from Twilights haircut...
