You stop gemming for int as soon as blizzard changed the paladin mechanics.
I'm beginning to think this topic needs to go in the FAQ

Intellect provides the following:
Mana
Spell Power
Mana Regen
Spell Critical Strike Chance
Spell Power provides, well just Spell Power.
The choice is simple.
From the
3.2.2 Holy Paladin guide
above:
Generally, intellect is our number one stat. Get a lot of it. If you already have 20k mana you're just starting to stack intellect. It increases your mana pool, your spell power (through talents), your mana regen (through Replenishment, Divine Plea, or any other spell or ability that returns a percentage of total mana), and your critical strike chance. Which in turn increases your mana regen slightly.

You know, it's kind of paradoxical. It's those that don't have int that need it, but they don't have enough int to know it.
