You know... I don't like Garrosh, at all. But I've got this ugly feeling he will be the Hero in the war against the Lich King.

God.. this made me so depressed...
I might get banned for this, but.. so what. FU blizzard.
But seriously though, in the origanal quest the reason the kid wanted to see Cairne is because cairne is a real hero of the horde, how he faught and what he did in the past, even if not in wow itself, anyone can read up on what he's done..
Now consider Garrosh
- He spent years crying into a fire because he daddy did something bad
- Thrall had to snap him out of it, and right away he put a spin on everything Garrosh said he wouldn't become
- He acts like he's in command, but Saurfang was there at warsong to watch him and tell him what to do, well Garrosh smashed toy boats.
- He disrepcted his warchief, who was the one who brought him out of his depression
And so he gets the title of warchief.. and the kid sees him as a hero?
You'd forgive a child for being nieve, but not someone who can see him for what he is.

I'm Horde and i love Thrall, he's well spoken yet iron fisted as a true leader should be... Living in the real world, where Hero's no longer become leaders (only skurky brown-nosers.) its been good to be able to Log onto WoW and see someone that comands my respect with his actions as well as his words. He speaks for all of us who have made mistakes in the past, us who are judged for our differences, He's more than a Leader he's the savior of many "Disturbed" Races ... such as the hateful trolls .. the savage orcs.... The addicted Blood elves... people that the Alliance would trample under their gold plated boots without even trying to understand them. he is the protector of the beaten, he is the guider of the misguided, he is the will of a nation...
And who has he done all this for you ask ..... For the Horde
Well .. spoken my friend.
I almost shead a tear there, truth.
Garrosh is an insignificant character, simply labeled and the son of Grom Hellscream.. wow, who gives a dam? Anyone with half a braincell and tell you the mistakes Grom made and what it lead to, and his son is doomed to repeat them.
Thrall is my warchief. I've been playing the horde for three and a half years now because of him, honestly, this is the truth. Ever since I read lord of the rings years ago, I often wondered if such a thing as a 'good' or noble orc could ever exist. I found that in warcraft.. and none more specifically then Thrall, the epitome of the noble savage, and the orc who made shamans into something amazing.
I don't care if the writers somehow reform Garrosh, which I doubt they will. He isn't a character of any importance to warcraft lore, and will stand as one of the biggest mistakes they made.

Saurfang performs a cleave in the not to distant future, which sends cleaving ripples back in time to cut down any alliance hijackers.

Screw you, man. Grom Hellscream is, in my opinion, one of the greatest heroes in Orc lore. He was maybe misled by Mannoroth, but the promise of extreme power is hard to resist for ANYONE. In the end, he not only avenged his mistake, but died for a cause that he believed to be right.
And how can you label Garrosh as an "insignificant" character? He's a huge character, especially seeing as how he will be leading the Horde come Cataclysm.
You are a dissenter who can't seem to accept that maybe, just
maybe
Blizzard MIGHT have something planned for the whole "Garrosh as warchief" deal. Blizzard is clever, plus it's their story. What you say won't change what they have planned. Live with it.

I know of Groms sacrifice and what it meant. He died and it was meant to give the orcs a chance to be free of the blood craze that gripped them for so long, which as shown in Groms dying moments, it did.
But up until now, Garrosh hasn't had any mention in any lore outside the game, nobody knew of him before TBC.. and now all a sudden he's meant to be a big thing? They can't even develop him properly in that one minute he's crying about 'omgz I'll never be like my father' and the next minute 'RAWR! Kill all humans, spill blood!'. His characters fickle at best.
I can see your one of the small handful who wants Garrosh for a leader, likely to inject more conflict into the game, but I've more reason the dislike or even hate him for it, because for all you said about Grom, you seemed to forget Grom did sacrifice himself so the horde could be free of this, something Garrosh now intends to make them into again.
Someone who thinks the horde was only mighty when they were blood crazed, demon lead savages should get there priorities sorted.

He was maybe misled by Mannoroth, but the promise of extreme power is hard to resist for ANYONE.Uh, Grom was one of the first to willingly step forward to drink the blood, which actually peeved off Blackhand, as he was suppose to be awarded that honour. Had nothing to do with being mislead, he was just that insane during the days of Draenor, but he did change after Beyond the Dark Portal... to a point.
