Well, i normally play on desk tops, but recent new job has 24 hour shifts where i am able to play at work. curious if anyone has recomendations for a good gaming lap top, yes ive heard about alienware but it seems there alot of complaints about them. Any ideas would be helpful, 64 bit operating system, good ram and processor. let me know thank you!

Gaming at work... you probaly shouldn't be doing that in the first place since you aren't getting paid to play the game probaly.

In my opinion, saying 'Gaming Laptop' is like saying 'Hunting BB-Gun', or 'Military Grade Sno-Cones'.

Well there are actual laptop gaming rigs, just that their battery life is bad and they overheat like crazy! in the next decade i see laptops replacing desktops when the tech improves more.
That's the point exactly.
To me a 'Gaming Rig' is a PC setup for maximum performance for running high quality, high def. games. If you try to do that in a laptop you're going to be spending a lot more money for less performance.
It's like being an elite +8 par.

Let me just say this again...Dell Studio XPS 16.
1 gig dedicated graphics, 4 gigs of ram (upgradable to 16), 2.53 Ghz procsessor. And its cheap!
That just made me realise how bad at spelling i am. Oh well...
