Now i know i know a warrior poopin two daggers seems funky, but my own warrior, Okaro, has used Emerald Ripper and Blade of the Unrequited for fury, and i gotta say, its nice. Not as nice as a foolsbane in the main hand but hell it works. Pumping 2k-2.5k Bloodthirsts with the lil bastard, also 1.5k with no rampage stacked, nice to me imo, i wouldnt mind upgrading mind you, maybe Big bad wolves paw and a Foolsbane, but for now I dont mind it..

Tanking with a 1.8 speed dagger is no different than doing it with a sword of the same speed, save the animations.
If you have the rage and a fast weapon, you can generate a fair amount of threat by spamming HS.
It's completely different for a prot warrior who uses Devastate to tank bosses. Devastate damage, because it's instant, is normalized depending on what weapon you're using.
Dagger: 1.8s (I believe)
1h Mace, Sword, Axe or Fist: 2.2s
So, no matter what speed of MH weapon, save a dagger, your Devastates will be hitting harder, causing more threat. Plus, most daggers are missing decent stats for tanking. I might use a dagger for AP/Str and Crit in a Shield Block/Shield Slam tanking set, but most of the time I would shy people away from using daggers to tank with.
It's not impossible, but it's probably not the best choice out there. Not considering, of course, how pissed I would be if a Sword Rogue took King's Defender from me. That's like taking Malchazeen from a Dagger Rogue to tank with.

I usually raid with a 33/28/0 spec, so when tanking mobs in trash fights, I'll take every advantage I can on holding aggro.
Currently I tend to use a Tracker's Blade (

) for tanking, as it is the highest dps 1-hander I own and is nice and fast. No devastate, so speed and weapon normalisation don't bother me.

The main problem with main handing a dagger is your Whirlwind will hit for crap. Sure, it'll be partially rectified in 2.3 with the Whirlwind change, but the damage won't be pretty if you're dual wielding them.
