Fishing items

Hi im new here and to WoW...

So i was looking through the item database for a new weapon for my character, and saw that you could fish items out of certain bodies of waters. I found this as a cool idea, but then wondered, do I just throw my line out and hopefully get the item sooner or later, or do i have to attach like a bauble or whatever those things are onto the rod? Also, do I need to be a certain level to fish certain items, or items at all? Thanks

While WoW's fishing system is pretty cool in general, the chance of actually fishing up a non-fish/crate item with any listed chance of being obtained via fishing is ridiculously low. In any case, I'd recommend you check out El's Extreme Anglin', an excellent resource for the more involved aspects of the fishing system. :)
