Hey there.
So - I'm sad to say this, but the ferals are really starting to get worser gear after 2.3. They think they can tank all fine in full gladiator which they cant. They also think they can DPS in full gladiator which they can't!
Let me state a example;
We take gladiator gloves vs dungeon gloves for rogues (
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28126
vs
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27509
)
Most druids now would say the gladiator gloves are best for DPS since they are epic. No they are not!
49AP versus 75AP, crit and HIT? Its a huge difference in damage.
And there are lot other "Oh so good epixx" items which could be replaced by blue easy-to-obtain gear. Get yourself together. I'm a druid, and I'm not grouping other ferals in dungeons anymore. Look at the stats of the feral set?! There is to low agility on it, no hit and no crit!
- Dude? That sucks! Low agility = low dodge. Low agility = low attack power. No hit and crit = sucks for DPS.
I know its time consuming and bag filling, BUT ferals now NEED 3 sets for gear. 1 for tanking, 1 for DPS and 1 for PvP.
So get yourself together druids, and dont do the heroics before you got the gear for it, gladiator simply ain't enough* And please - enchant your gear + socket it proberly!
*(It may be for most other classes, but not ferals!)
Oh a little side note to; NEVER let me hear this again "sorry Im feral dps" -.- Allmost every feral talents supports bearform. If you are feral specced you are supposed to get a tank set to, period!
;Lith\
P.S.: I dont wanna hear the "but i've done full heroic mech and I only got pvp gear..!!". Heroic mech is easy, so is many other heroics, but think how much easier it could be if you geared proberly!

There are certain stats that you need to shoot for for tanking and dps, if you can meet those stat requirements with Gladiator then you're doing fine.
But it can't meet meet the requirements. Tanking? Not enough dodge at all! DPS? -.- I dont even wanna get into that, it must be obv.

So please, if you want to ninja rogue gear keep it to yourself, you arent fit to play a feral druid - or criticize us if you dont play one - when you cant even figure out stat bonuses from gear properly.

You know why your post seems so long and intellegent? 'Cos you said they were way better in bearform -.- I use them for tanking myself 'cos curator won't drop my T4, but dude they suck for tanking. Resilience? Druids should be crit immune without it, I am, and I only use chest from heavy clefthoof set still.
- You are saying resilience is a essential stat? gtfo
- You are saying how much armor and stamina they got? Look at T4.
Ohh - if you looker closer at the stats I wrote you would see I wrote them without all feral bonuses. Rogue dungeon gloves still beats gladiator in terms of DPS.
If you come as DPS you are there as DPS. Not to heal or anything else - if you're healer can't keep it up himself maybe he should try another instance.
If you are trying to tank in full gladiator I pitty the foo* who signed up to heal you..

Who tanks in *full* gladiator? And did you even read N'lynx' post? And what you wrote yourself for that matter? Maybe you should do that again.

You... don't particularly have much of a clue as to how hard it is to maintain crit immunity as your gear levels go up (in other words, as you go beyond Heavy Clefthoof / T4), right?
If you find yourself short on defense rating, which is likely to happen when you get to the level of gear where your only sources of crit reduction are likely to be rings, necklace, and cloak - resilience
is
an efficient way of getting your crit immunity.
Let's take a look at the average druid tanking gear right out of T4 content, starting out on SSC / TK. Let's assume for the sake of argument full T4 with the best non-set items in every other slot (Earthwarden, Violet Signet of the Great Protector, A'dal's Signet of Defense, Barbed Choker of Discipline, Gilded Thorium Cloak still provide defense at this gear level).
Oh hey, look. 137 defense rating total (assuming you have the Keepers of Time helm glyph and the Scryers shoulder enchant), which is not nearly enough to make you uncrittable. It gets even worse if you are lucky enough to see a
Wildfury Greatstaff
drop.
What do you do at this point? You could, I guess, gem for defense, or pass on the best tanking weapon in the game just because if you pick it up you can't easily maintain uncrittability.
Or alternatively, you could go investigate PVP gear, and realize that hey, you can remain uncrittable
and
gimp your stats far less by investing in some resilience.
As for your example of the gloves: the gladiator gloves have ~90AP and ~0.86% crit, assassination has ~84AP, ~1.13% crit and ~1.08% hit. I would say they're sidegrades of each other.
If you come as DPS you are there as DPS. Not to heal or anything else - if you're healer can't keep it up himself maybe he should try another instance.
Like it or not, druids are a hybrid class. If you can save the group from wiping by shifting out and healing, or shifting to bearform and tanking, why the hell aren't you doing it?
If you don't want to be flexible and help the group to the best of your ability, what are you doing playing a druid? Maybe you should try another class instead.
PS. Extra intellect can help you maximize your DPS. Ever heard of powershifting? No? Look it up.

You will see the armor cap
Not until T5 at least you won't. Do
you
have 35,880 armor? I sure don't.
That last 3000 armor is taking a LONG time to get :|.

/ Anyway thats the pleasure of being a hybrid, there are times when you can do everything your char was built to do.
Saving heal, Tank died u hop in his spot, DPS so much the locks are crying...don't spend too much time worrying about all the other players and their gear. Have fun get whatever gear you can and learn the basic stats for building a feral druid. You want to be the best...then you will find the information here and other places and you will help your raid/PUG/5v5 and guild in every way possible. Keep the QQ down and play till your hungry.
This should be holy writ when it comes to playing druids. I play a feral pvp/OT and have been more than happy with my spec and gear. I carry 4 SETS of armor which covers ...
PvE DPS
PvE Tank
PvP DPS
PvP Tank
Heal/Nuke
I have MT'd all of Kara, MT'd the King, OT'd Gruul and OT'd Mag and the first 2 bosses of ZA...(have not been further, though I am geared for it)
I mainly PvP but have a combination of gear to reach the required percentages and caps for the instance, which means I can step into almost ANY role where I am needed (except Main Healer of course).
The point is, druids are a UTILITY CLASS and is the most gear-dependant and SKILLS BASED toon, than any other class.
Think about it. At any given moment, you are expected to know how to properly tank, DPS, heal or nuke and depending upon your gear and skill, you should be able to do ALL OF THOSE WITH COMPETENCE! THAT is what it takes to excel at being a druid and that is why so many people look down on druids for QQ posts or some other crap.
Invest some time to either craft or earn gear, get a good Swap Mod (I use Closetgnome) and become very SCARY!
